We just bought it and I love the features. It cleans great. However, the start button is touchy so I always make sure it starts.

Poor design, buttons not evident

The buttons on the face front of the machines are poorly placed. When leaning against or reaching above the machine, the machine is turned on or off. There is no no back wall or lip to the machine which normally prevents items from being pushed back off of the machine making it impossible to retrieve. The buttons are not obviously usable; had to look up in the book how to use. Sound alarms are not loud enough to hear in other parts of the house. The dryer does not have an automatic cool end cycle spin when concluded so the clothes don't get wrinkled if you don't take them out right away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't love a front loading washer..my mistake. The front dials on each machine are too sensitive. Every time I lean in to reach something from the cabinets above I inevitably touch something on the front of one of the two and turn them on which of course requires that I then turn them off.Think it is odd that with all the technology today that it is still required that I leave the washer door open to let it air out or else it will smell. Can't you guys figure something else out for that ??

We looked at several uprights and knew this was the one. My wife already enjoyed doing laundry and now..... she can't wait to get home from work and start a load. And if we have any visitors, they get shown the washer and dryer.Only surprise was length of time a load takes to wash; but appreciate the tradeoff using less detergent and water.No regrets getting the pair even though just the two of us doesn't really warrant getting so many features.We really mainly wanted quality and we got that and so much more.

Why didn't I buy this sooner?

I am a Whirlpool retiree who had to sell against front loaders because Whirlpool didn't have anything but top loaders. So when my friends asked for a recommendation, I always told them not to waste their money on a front loader because that "Super Surgalator Agitator" would get their clothes cleaner and it cost less. Now that I finally broke down and invested in a Duet, I'm embarrassed to tell my friends that "I just love it". I had a top loader for 35 years and it was still running when I donated it to charity and went with the new technology. I love having a dispenser for detergent and the sensor determines how much water to use on the load. The clothes come out really clean and they aren't all tangled into a ball. My niece spent three weeks with me this summer and loved it and did a small load every day just so she could try out all the features. Now she expects her Aunt to buy her a Duet as soon as she buys a house. And the dryer turns out clothes wrinkle-free in half the time of my old dryer

I've only had my front loader for about a month,And it's the first front loader I have ever used.So far I feel it get things cleaner. Love the steamGets spots out better then ever.
