Long wash cycles; don't like front loaders

Washer gets clothes clean which is what matters most. However, the wash cycles take forever compared to my 20+ yr old top loader and the results are not noticeably different. Don't really care for front loaders, laundry too often ends up on floor while transferring from washer to dryer and the bending over the reach in is also less convenient than my previous top loader.

Great Washer

There are many things I love about this washer. It so easy to wash bulky items with no agitator in the middle since it is side loaded. I love the sound of the musical tones and alarms. I love that there is an easy Affresh cycle to keep the machine in tip top condition.

Great washer overall

I have had this washer for 2 months now. It has some great features and options for washing and I like the liquid detergent dispenser, that lasts for several washes and dispenses the right amount of detergent per load. The only reason I gave this washer 4 stars vs. 5 is that I am not a fan of the flat touchpad buttons...I would prefer real buttons...as it sometimes takes several tries to turn on or pause the washer instead of a solid one-touch button. I also feel that this washer tends to need more cleaning than other washers I have had...or it will start smelling moldy inside the drum.Other than that, it is a great washer with great features that will be gentle on your fabrics without causing damage or shrinkage.

Good so Far

I've owned this washer for 3 months. It is the first non top loader I've ever owned and using it has been quite intuitive for the most part.I appreciate the detergent dispensing design which meters some soap each load by itself. Cloths come out very dry and that cuts down on drying time. One thing that bothers me is the time it takes on a drain and spin cycle, when I've washed something like a small rug, mop head or quilt elsewhere and just want it to spin dry. It starts out taking 19 minutes but takes about 30 in the end. My top loader just spun thing dry in a few minutes if I was just using the spin cycle. I'm not understanding the time attached to that cycle and there are no other options I can find in the literature or calling Whirlpool. Overall I would buy it again at this point
