This product offers a lot.

?.But just is one brick short of a load. Wash cycles take too long, animal hair sticks to the clothes in little dark spots which need to be pulled off. Most cold water wash - which I prefer- works well with the above exceptions. Nothing is perfect and I would purchase the washer again knowing what I know now.

Whirlpool Duet Steam front Load washer with Precision dispen

I have had this washer for just over a year and have already had to have a repair man in 3 separate times for the same problem. It seems whirlpool thought that their products filtration system was so superior that they decided to put the filter inside of the washer - where no laymen would be able to reach it. I can not even wash mens full length socks in this washer without using a washer bag because the "Superior filtration System" allows them to get into the filter. Not to mention children's underwear and socks. No big deal you say - just put them in a washer bag. However, things do not get very clean in a washer bag and it is socks and underwear and small dish towels that have to go in it. Things that need a proper wash job. When the repair man comes it involves pulling the machine out and taking off the entire front of the washer - which involves several different types of screwdrivers in order to achieve this. He then needs to take the spring off - which requires two people to put back on and about 1/2 of his time to do this - just to empty the filter. HOW RIDICULOUS!! I have owned several washers in my lifetime 5 to be exact and I have never gotten anything caught in the filter. Whirlpool has seriously let me down - and I will not buy another whirlpool product because of my experience with this one. Not to mention the Precision Dispense Ultra unit barely dispenses any detergent and your laundry comes out smelly. I have been able to get over this design flaw by just putting liquid in the dispensing unit. Not a great feature they should be advertising. Thanks for your time and I hope you take my review into consideration before purchasing this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this washing machine, I only wish I would have bought it sooner! The precision dispense feature is awesome...you just full the container with detergent and do laundry...it takes what it needs for the load and is ready for the next. I only add detergent about every two weeks. The spincycle makes the clothes come out nearly dry, making the time needed to dry the clothes very short (with the sensor dry feature of the matching dryer its usually less than 30 minutes). The end of cycle tones are very sophisticated. Multiple wash cycles taylored to the type of clothes, bedding, towels, etc that you are washing. Plus this washing machine uses about 1/10th the water my old one did...and I don't think my clothes were as clean before...now they smell sooooo good.I would absolutely recommend this set to anyone looking for a new washer...and if I am ever in the market for a washer/dryer again, I will definitely look at what whirlpool has available.?

I am impressed, overall, with my new Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer, and should be given the cost. The clothes come out of the washer needing very little drying time and the dried clothes have very few wrinkles. I have cut down quite a bit on ironing. All the wash and dry options are user friendly and allow the user to really customize the cycles. The washer is quieter than any other washer I've owned, but during the fast spin cycle, the washer sounds like it is going to blast off. It also sounds like it squeaks in high spin cycle.

I really love my new washer and dryer. With the quick wash for lightly soiled clothes I do my laundry in half the time of other washers.

I like all the features that came with the units. The automatic detergent dispenser, the sensor that size the volume of the load, the numerous selections of the type of washes that it can do and the large capacity for the ease of doing those large loads. The laundry were very clean even on cold wash cycles.

My old washer was a 1984 model but was also Whirlpool and lasted long enough that parts were not available to repair it......so when I bought the new one I never looked at anything other than Whirlpool. I love the ease of use with the automatic dispenser, in fact I love everything about it except one small thing, I wish it had a rinse only cycle. Some of the other models may have that and I wish I had noticed it before I bought but I can deal with that small thing. I've only had it about nine months but hoping it will last as long as the previous washer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
