Great cooktop. Only negative is there is only one "eye on" indicator light. I would prefer that each eye have its own indicator.

Not enough small burners

When shopping for a cooktop we failed to notice that only two of these burners offer a 6inch cooking area. This cooktop is only good if you will frequently use large pots and pans, those using several smaller pots will not be happy. We replaced it with a Thermador cooktop shortly after installation. There are probably better Kitchen Aid models too, but the Thermador offered 6inch burners and more at all four cooking areas. Something we expensively learned to be a requirement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great surface area and cooking features

I bought appliance anong other four KitchenAid appliances about 5 months ago. Surface it somewhat hard to clean and we seems to be having problem with even heat ultra elemewnt. At times, it feels like the temperature is not controlled rapidly enough when shifting from high to low or ultra low since some food has burnt in the process.

I bought this and then had to hire a granite man to come out and make the opening larger for the cooktop to fit. Nobody's fault but it cost quite a bit to install. It works well.

Even though I like the way this product cooks, I am disappointed with the way the stains have developed on the range that will not clean up. They appear to be permanent. If the water boils over during cooking it has stained the surface and will not come off. Would like help with cleaning solutions.

Cons: can't remove stains
