Easy to use and doesn't require a lot of space. Able to print from apple products is a big plus. Pictures are sharp and bright. The CD tray makes it a must have.

I read the PC Magazine article that awarded the XP-600 4 out of 5 stars; and I was completely convinced this printer was well worth the name, productivity and price. First, I use the iPad and iPhone and wanted to use a wireless printer (AirPlay ) that was also a MFP. Secondly, I wanted a printer that was hassle free in the area of set up. Finally, the copies and photos need to look brilliant, clear and have a non-smear look to them. The EP-600 is A+++++.

Frustrated with this printer...

This is the first wireless printer I've had and that alone makes life much easier. But here are my issues with it...
Even though when I try to print from my Mac laptop it works flawlessly, if I pop something in the scanning bed and try to scan it using the buttons on the printer, all of a sudden the printer and my laptop cannot connect. I've wasted so much time trying to get it to work, and the only thing that gets them connected for scanning is to open the scanning function from my laptop and request the scan from there. It's not the end of the world but it shouldn't be difficult, it should just work! There's no reason I shouldn't be able to press scan on the printer and have it just show up on my laptop. I've seen other brands do that with no problem.
THE WORST PART IS THE INK!!! When it claims the ink is low, the printer will just refuse print jobs. How can this be when the last thing I printed looked perfectly fine - no faded grey or signs of low ink levels?? I'd like to see for myself that ink is low, not just have my printer tell me and refuse to go on until I buy a new cartridge! In fact I'm insulted that Epson does this.. For example, if I need to print a boarding pass right away, I don't care if it's slightly faded - I just need it printed! I even once tried to change the text of some class notes to dark blue to use some of the color ink but it still refused. Speaking of color ink, for a student who prints primarily black-and-white text documents I have no idea how the color ink has gotten so low.
Overall, I am a student with very minimal printing and scanning needs and somehow this product manages to disappoint on many levels. Further, the fact that Epson literally forces you to buy a new cartridge before even seeing signs of low ink is outrageous. I will not be buying their products again.

Epson XP 600

Worst printer ever. I do a lot of computer and photo work, and my old epson, which lasted about 10 years simply wore out. Worked fine first few printings, then it ran out of ink. Got a new ink pack, it disappeared somehow, and it wouldn't recognize the cartridges. On my fourth ink pack, all the colors, and still doesn't work. After 3 weeks, I am ready to trash it. Also print quality is very poor, and don't even bother printing pictures. Parts are flimsy, and too much trouble to constantly pull trays in and out to load paper and receive printed material. Plus the trays just fall out if not carefully pulled. Horrible horrible product. Waste of money, and time.

Purchased primarily for photos. Size is good, WiFi set up is easy, photos are great, speed is excellent. Ink consumption is a drawback. Compared to previous Epson printer it uses twice the ink to produce a similar number of shots.
