I did a lot of research to determine which All-in-one printer would be best for my home use, via WIFI and using an Imac. Lots of choices but this one seemed to be the best fit for my usage. It was very easy to set up and there were zero glitches. Awesome color photos and nice black and white print.

After a year or so, I've become pleased with this printer. Quality is good, speed is good. The document feeder for FAX and scanning works well. That said, there are a number of things about this printer that could be improved. Initially, I had problems with installation. I've had to reinstall it half a dozen times. Even now, I occasionally have communication issues with some programs, notably Quicken. Do NOT try to install this with a USB cable. On my Win 7 computer, that proved to be very problematic. The scanning function is a little erratic, especially when scanning from the printer. The EpsonScan software works well, however. The printer works best with standard paper, and its performance falls off dramatically with other types of media. If you want to print 3x5 cards, you cannot. The smallest size is a bit under 4x6. And finally, the printer demands Epson cartridges, and won't work if other brands are used. Not nice, Epson. Oh, it's possible to get other brands to work, but it requires some work. In summary, it's a Good Thing that the printer still works well after more than a year, with no mechanical issues. But it isn't easy to get it running, and it's not out-of-the-box functional. Considering all of the things a multi-function has to do, it does most of them well, and has been a worthwhile purchase.

Problem I'm having with it currently is typical. Once one gets the printer set for something - say printing pages from documents via wifi, it typically works find on that setting. I have an iMac in the same office nook as the printer and a new Airport. Wife has a laptop. Sometimes - about 10% of the time, one of us goes to print and "can't find printer" even though printer shows connected to network. Other times that works just fine. PROBLEM - is when we change what we want to do. Now I'm trying to scan. Neither Epson software nor Image Capture can talk to the printer, even thought the printer shows up as connected device. Says No Printer Selected, although it shows in the margin & I have it highlighted.
Like the print quality. Ink use OK. Have not done photos on photo paper yet. Have done some successful scans, but encounter errors when switching modes too often to make me comfortable doing it - know it's going to be a hassle.

The WF-3520 was easy to set up and generally works as advertised. I have had two previous Epsom WF printers and bought this one because it allowed two sided printing on a Mac. So far it has worked OK for most print jobs. I have had two issues with this printer. First, when printing special envelopes (for Christmas cards) they can't be fed from the tray feed because the flap is facing up and causes a paper jams. I had to feed them one at a time from the rear feeder and they occasionally jammed from there as well. The second issue is that it won't print on a 4" by 6" post card from either the front or the rear feeder, The card is to short and causes a jam every time. One other issue I expect to have with this printer, as I have had with my past epsom printers, is that when any one color ink cartridge is low, it prevents printing in black and white even though the black cartridge is fine. Very irritating if you don't have a new cartridge handy at the moment.

Step 7 on the install directions are very important. Make sure you TYPE "Epson Technical Support" you can google anything and I almost uploaded some drivers however with another company that wanted to charge me...
I have two more laptops to set up, this was my wifes notepad and followed all instructions for downloading the drivers and setting up printing wirelessly which she has never had. I am very excited for her :-)

overall I'd say that the WF-3520 is a very good printer. It does everything that I want. During set up however the instructions said removal the USB cable when directed by the instructions, that never came up during the set up. So I had to set it up again for wireless from the beginning. The other item that I don't like is that there is no scan preview so that you can scan only the picture you want, not a lot of blank space. There should be a fix for this.
