After reading ratings on-line I decided to take a chance on my Danby Microwave. I live in a small one room apartment and do not have much counter space in my kitchen. The Danby is perfect for my situation. It is basic and efficient. The only problem I have is that many of the packaged goods I want to microwave don't fit (bags of popcorn and many others). I have had my Danby for almost a year and can recommend it to people with limited kitchen counter space.
Although only taking up a small footprint on my counter, the Danby microwave oven does everything I bought it to do. It cooks quickly and evenly and it has performed flawlessly in the time I have had it. It appears to be well-built and reliable and I look forward to a long relationship with the Danby brand.
The Danby Microwave Oven was installed as an option in our 2015 Safari Condo Alto R1713 camping trailer. We spent 127 nights in the camper during 2015 and used the microwave extensively. It performs well and heats food consistently throughout.
The door seems to be slightly misaligned, probably from bouncing down the highway over the past year, but it's probably no fault of the unit.
copied from review i posted on home depot site …...As I am not sure how long I will be living where I currently am, size was perfect. Should I not need a microwave, it's great for a dorm / work room. Plusses: not huge electricity pull, turntable was marginally larger than others of same size, no stainless steel fingerprints to deal with. Will slip on counter when push button to open door; however, I used a small PVC pipe piece at each of back corners--PVC keeps microwave away from back wall also. Time will tell if quality and durability are there, but so far perfect. Pros: Easy to Clean, Easy to Use, Sturdy, Easy to Install, Looks Great, Stylish, Good Size & Weight, Nice Design
WE WANTED SMALL AND SIMPLE, SO THIS IS WHAT WE ORDERED. IT CAN DO MUCH MORE THAN WE ASK OF IT THOUGH. THE ONE IT REPLACED WAS EITHER ON OR OFF. THE DANBY LETS US DECIDE ON WHICH TEMP'S WE WANT AND FOR HOW LONG. AND THEN THERE ARE BUTTONS FOR SPECIFICS LIKE POPCORN. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN.
Nice compact size, but big enough to handle a dinner plate. Black color is nice, unobtrusive. Sometimes it is a little tricky to settle the rotating plate correctly on the raised bumps that are supposed to hold the plate in place. Not a serious problem, but sometimes annoying. I like the "add 30 seconds" feature.
good hitherto but its only been 12-13 months. wait n see after 3-5 years. Talked to some energy students. Microwaves use less energy for short cooks compared to electric but use more energy for long time cooking.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worked great at first

This little microwave worked great out of the box. After a few months, a bubble appeared in the keypad plastic covering and ruptured. A few months later, another one popped up and did the same. The little cardboard filler piece over the magnetron somehow got singed while heating up some leftovers that were nowhere near it. With time I've noticed the power output of the microwave has gradually decreased. At first, dishes would be piping hot in less than a minute to minute and a half. Now the same dishes take upwards of three minutes to get to a reasonable temperature. I've waited not quite 1.5 years to leave this review, and I'm not wholly thrilled with my purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
