Excellent inside a lampshade

Color quality is great, light dispersal is good, but the fin shadows are noticeable. The garish yellow color is distracting if bulbs are visible when off. 4 of these illuminate my kitchen from within a clouded white glass fixture, and have been excellent.
Pros: light color quality, instant on, no flicker or noise
Cons: fin shadows, yellow when off

Nothing negative about this bulb, which is indistinguishable from incandescent. It's light appears warmer than the newer 11 watt replacement.
Pros: warm color hue

I'm not sure when I bought a set of three, but it has to be within the past two years. One of the three burned out already. I was expecting it to last much, much longer. I don't remember what I paid, but I know it seemed high. I thought buying the Phillips name would mean something.
Pros: nice light output
Cons: already burned out

If you pay this much it should last more than a year

Bought this less than a year ago and it has already blown.
LED is a ripoff, I got this life from a 50 cent incandescent bulb.
Pros: appearance
Cons: price vs life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our light buzzed.

I liked the light bulb except it buzzed so we removed it from our lamp in the living room and we are now using it in our barn. I love the idea of these light bulbs but I CAN'T stand buzzing sounds from lights. Hopefully they will fix this flaw.
Also, I'd like to know if the light bulb is OK to use in a closed light, one that normally accepts a 60W incandescent bulb? Can't find this information.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Ever!

This is simply the best light bulb I've ever owned. I have slowly been replacing bulbs as they burn out with these. Unfortunately, they have become hard to find recently. I really want to buy more.
Pros: no "warm up period", bright, instant on, easier on the eyes than cfl
Cons: they've gotten hard to find

Excellent match of Incandescent Light Color!

I put these inside the house initially. On no-dimmer applications they emitted a perceptible buzz/whine that was very noticeable when the house was quiet. Wife did not like that at all. I had to relegate them to outside porch light duty where the noise is muffled by the fixture. I love the cold weather performance and almost instant on in that application.
Pros: very efficient, compact enough to fit most fixtures, great frosted incandescent color match, 2 years old and still running great
Cons: buzz/whine of lamp annoys wife
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good light

I am using this in a (moisture protected) porch light, where it is exposed to different temperature conditions. The quality of light is close to incandescent. I think the lower power cost, long life, instant illumination and lack of spiked spectral output of CFLs are benefits. Performance in cold weather is also beneficial.
I still prefer L-Prize for indoor because of its spectral output and enhanced reds, but this bulb is a good alternative for incandescent/halogen and is a lot more pleasant than CFL.
"Instant on" is a bit of a misnomer. There is actually a perceptible lag of maybe 1/2 second as it powers up. The improvement is over CFLs which take several minutes to reach full illumination, and is especially noticeable in cold weather.
These also do not project downward toward the base, which is advantageous in my porch light's base-up configuration.
Pros: instant on, durability, cold weather operation, low power consumption, good spectral output, good color rendering and lack of spectral spikes.
Cons: cost, limited spectral range
