Hello,
My apologies for this happening to you. With this type of printer, poor print quality is usually due to clogged nozzles in the printhead. They can be cleared by running the printhead cleaning from the printer's menu.
If it appears that the poor performance is due to a defect of the cartridge itself, the return and exchange process is covered, step-by-step, at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges
