where is my desktop icon?

i installed this webroot "product" awhile ago. i never had an icon show up on my desktop to access it. how do i check my computer's status? how do i run a scan? how do i see the effect you are having? I CAN'T BECAUSE I NEVER HAD AN ICON TO CLICK ON!!!

not sure who is at fault

For about a week my computer freezes up any where from a few seconds two a few minutes. yesterday ASUS came up and worked at whatever it is they do and thought the problem was solved, was up for about 20 minutes and computer froze up.This is my third attempt to write this as computer has shut down so often
