Your automated process sucks. I had a hard time updating my computer this time. I kept getting emails stating my protection was expiring after I renewed your service. Now my subscription ends a year after the date I renewed your service instead of a year after my then current subscription ended. I have in years past renewed my subscription without problems. You need to fix this.

Good overall protection

I am very satisfied with the product. The price is fair and the footprint seems really small. This will not slow down your computer. No product is perfect, but this one seems to be well-rated for strong overall protection. I only wish the system check would include utilities to fix the weaknesses found in the system and not just a general duplicate and space cleaner.

I got my computer back. . .

For the longest time I had been using Trend Micro Security to protect my computer. As time went on. . .I noticed my computer was running slower and slower, sometimes to the point of my computer freezing up completely, especially when a security scan was being performed. At first, I wasn't sure why. My computer is an older, lower performance one (Dell with i5 Pentium processor) and only has 4 GB of RAM, so I suspected the computer updates might be overtaxing my system with higher demands of memory. However, I also had my doubts that this slowdown should be as severe as it was since I don't run multiple programs that suck up memory like some electronic vampire. After doing some research, I began to think it might be because of my current viral protection program.
When my contract was up with Trend Micro, I decided to take a look at other virus protection programs. I spent a good amount of time researching. I didn't need anything fancy, and being that I didn't have a whole lot of RAM, I wanted a program that was less demanding on memory. In the end I decided to give WEBROOT a try, and I am glad I did.
Installation was quick and easy. I had it installed and up and running in a matter of minutes. Upon opening the program to see what was what, I was pleased with how the WEBROOT menus were simple and to the point, nothing confusing, so navigating them and configuring the program to run as I wanted was "a piece of cake." What really surprised me was how little I noticed when a scan was running in the background. It didn't slow down my computer much, if at all. The time for the scan isn't too bad either, takes an average of 17 minutes to scan my whole computer. With Trend Micro Security, a full scan was taking up to 3 hours, and during that time, I could barely run any programs; even just surfing the web would cause freeze-ups, which was extremely frustrating. With WEBROOT, my computer is running as fast as what it used to many years ago, and still haven't had any viral issues nor issues with WEBROOT interfering with any of my other programs.
For me, deciding to try out WEBROOT was money well spent. I was thinking I would have to get a new computer because of how it was constantly freezing up because of how all my computer memory being hogged by Trend Mirco Security. But now, I can wait a little longer :)
