I had a Maytag stack washer and dryer for over 20 years and loved it. The new whirlpool fits in the place, but it is smaller, the size of washer tub and dryer. It does not hold as large a load. I liked the way the Maytag door open to the washer and the dryer(the dryer door is very hard to open and close). The new machine is not a tall as the old one, so you have to bend over further to put the clothes in and to get them out. It needs to be a couple of inches higher. It washes and dries great. I just know you can make another stack machine like my old one and when you do please let me know. I will be in line to buy one.

I loved it at first, but after 6 months of use ...

... I have a big issue. This is my second combo washer/dryer. I would not have purchased this Whirlpool model had I known I cannot clean the washer lint trap. There is no way to do this - I consulted the company that installs all my appliances. My tech told me there should be no lint as this model automatically removes lint. That is NOT TRUE. I have a dark coloured wardrobe and white towels - there is lint on EVERYTHING and blobs of lint dried on every item I hang to dry (lingerie, shirts, jeans) as I do not use the dryer for all my washing.I am stuck with the appliance now, but I won't be buying another.

I have had this product since 5/1/13. It fits very well into a cabinet that we constructed for it. The dryer needs to be run twice for an amount of 7-8 pieces of clothing. A technician has to come out already to also fix the rinse cycle part of the system as it hangs up on that cycle and must be manually adjusted or it will just keep running water. Based upon the reviews I read on line I thought that this product would be better built using quality parts...wrong. Would not recommend to anyone who needs to do large amounts of laundry. It's adequate for a single person doing a little at a time...assuming all the cycles are in working order and the heating element does it's job.

My brother and I bought this washer/dryer combo for one of our rentals. It was a great purchase and a real plus for prospective renters. So far, after 2 months of use, it has performed as we expected. It was easy to install and looks great in the closet we built for it. We are very pleased with the purchase and plan to install this type of appliance in other rentals as we are able to remodel them.

Lint Catcher is next to useless

This is the washer dryer that came with my apartment, and the lint trap does not create a seal, allowing lint to pass through many places. Behind it is a grate, that I didn't know existed until I decided to see what was behind the lint trap. There I found about 1/2 cubic foot of lint, gum, a pen and pencil, and the key to my clothes drying in one cycle rather than having to use two. I am still in the process of cleaning this grate, and have been for over an hour. This could have been prevented had you made a lint trap that didn't just loosely sit there, and one that was useful.
