NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LG AND SAMSUNG TV'S USING ARC!

Great sound!! HOWEVER....If you are looking to use the ARC technology this soundbar will not work as advertised with LG and Samsung tv's. You will find the chat boards full with this discussion! You will have to turn it on and off each time you turn on the tv...Or you will have to go into the AMP menu and reset the hdmi each time!

Very disappointed....again

I received this sound bar and sub-woofer last Feb as a gift and I was originally very please. But as time went on the item began to fail like all other Sony products I have purchased in recent years. The sound quality was great for the price and was wonderful for movies and playing music through and the sub made a huge and wonderful impact.
In the recent months the bluetooth sub has been cutting out while watching movies and completely shutting off (Power still on) while streaming music through via bluetooth, AUX adapter, provided cable, and HDMI cable. As soon as I try to adjust the volume of the sub woofer it cuts out and provides no bass from the sub. I have had no help with Sony customer service as their only suggestion was to not turn up the speaker too loud. Kind of defeats the purpose to me.
I have slowly began throwing away my Sony products and replacing them with different manufacturers because the last 4 out of 4 Sony products I have purchased have failed within 6-12 months. Very disappointed, I do NOT recommend anything Sony to anyone....unless you want to throw away your money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

best sound bar ever great bass and treble

Greatest sound bar ever. Great bass and treble. Bluetooth is excellent.
my ipad is connected to it via Bluetooth and listening to Pandora is great. the windows and walls vibrates with the music because of its great bass effect. Use it every day and the house is simply full of great music and sound from Sony. My friends and visitors admire the sounds and music whenever they asked it's because of SONY. So far no distortions due to loud volume. My walls may breakdown due to bass vibrations.

Good sound

Sound is great, especially for the price. Theoretically, it's easy to setup: just plug it in and connect an HDMI cable to the ARC port on the TV. And it works as advertised except for one fatal flaw: whenever the sound bar turns off the sound connection is not re-established automatically, you gotta jump through a bunch of hoops with the soundbar menu to get it back. So, I leave it powered on all the time.

Great Purchase

Matched with my Sony Smart TV, this has been a match made for one another. The set up was quick and easy, especially since both products were Sony. Instead of having numerous remotes or programming remotes, I only use one remote. The sound is unbelievable. Full surround sound. Glad I purchased this product. Loved it so well, bought 2 more, one for my great room and one for my man cave, my wife got jealous, so I had to get her one for our spare bed room that she utilizes for her sewing room when we do not have guests.

Good sound; funky connectivity

Really sounds good.
That said, HDMI connection takes a while to activate sound when TV starts up (Sony KDL52EX700). Communication is lost to subwoofer module at varying and intermittent intervals. Remote is woefully underpowered for even a short throw.

Great Price and shipped quick...But, my wife said it was ugly with the chrome ends and I had too much trouble setting it up with my remotes and cable box...The sound was OK but not up to the Sony expected level...

Terrible purchase

I am very disappointed with the Sony Sound Bar. It was difficult to set up, it won't hold the settings and the sound is very mushy. I have tried and tried to chance the treble and bass settings but it just won't work.
