Coming from the Instinct 3 solar mip this watch is a leap forward in technology. It also far out paces my old Ultra 1 in battery life and functionality. I do however miss the 40 days of battery life on my old Instinct 3. The watch battery under normal conditions and with a workout each day lasts about 20 days. I think the Garmin messenger has a lot to be desired though and wish it integrated better with my IPhone. The in reach is not really needed unless you are an extreme outdoor person and not not in range of cell phone towers.
This watch is incredible! Coming from multiple Tactix series Amoled and MIPS this is the pinnacle for me in terms of everyday wear. I still my enduro 3 for back country trips. The f9 pro Amoled display is gorgeous. Can’t recommend it enough. Just waiting on the new comfort fit bands to come back in stock.
Been a Fenix user since ver 3; the AMOLED screen is great and my first eddition with this display. Really weel done, with lots of features and activities for many people. What I like the most, is that no matter what I am doing, golf, running, cycle, swim, pickelball, it is always ready to go. I enjoyed the solar version of the 7 and needed charging, about once a month; hoping for similar wiht the 9. I'm a 15 years log (140.6 miles) course triathalete and think the "coachng" may be a bit overdone but is a good attempet, when nothing else comes to mind.
I have owned a Pathfinder and a Fenix-6. The upgrade to the Fenix-9 Pro AMOLED 51mm with the touch screen makes this over the top in functionality. I have an Apple Ultra watch, but have been a bit disappointed with the performance tracking. Garmin is really the leader in tracking performance as far as I’m concerned. I purchased the Fenix-9 pro 51mm as soon as it was offered and have loved it. This is not that big a watch on my wrist and I don’t have an especially large one. I love the battery life and this was the decision to go for the 51mm. I do have a protective glass screen on my watch in in the photo if folks wonder why there is a ring on the glass. I also don’t think there is any watch on the market that compares to this watch with a clean and intuitive interface for health and fitness tracking with a touch screen. This really is a step up from the Fenix-6. I have not setup the Satellite messaging functionality yet, but for the real explorers out there, this is a bonus.
I upgraded from the fēnix 6 to the fēnix 9 Pro with inReach, and the difference has been impressive. The larger, brighter display is much easier to read at a glance, especially outdoors, and the expanded feature set makes the watch feel like a significant upgrade rather than a minor refresh. I especially appreciate having inReach connectivity integrated into a rugged, dependable watch—it adds an extra level of confidence for outdoor activities and travel. Overall, the fēnix 9 Pro delivers excellent visibility, useful new capabilities, and the premium build quality I expected. I’m very happy with the upgrade and would recommend it to anyone coming from an older fēnix model.
I’ve been using my Garmin watch for almost a month, and what impresses me the most is how well it tracks health data and supports a wide variety of sports and workout modes. The health monitoring and fitness tracking features are excellent, and they are the main reasons why I really enjoy using Garmin.
However, there are two areas that I think could be improved.
First, the cable connection to a computer can sometimes feel unreliable, and the charging connection could also be more stable. I would love to see Garmin adopt a more convenient and reliable connection or charging solution, such as USB-C, in the future.
Second, some features that rely on Wi-Fi for syncing, updates, or downloads are not always as stable as I would like. I hope Garmin can improve the reliability of Wi-Fi connectivity and data synchronization in future products.
Overall, I’m very happy with Garmin’s health tracking and sports features. If Garmin can improve the computer connection, charging experience, and Wi-Fi syncing, I would be even more confident in choosing Garmin for my future smartwatches.
Purchased a couple of weeks ago, upgraded from Fenix 6 pro solar. I absolutely love this Fenix 9 pro! Still have a lot to learn about new features like the inreach.
