Switched from an Apple Watch to this and I definitely prefer it. More relevant and realistic data for someone that is exercise/training oriented. Also nice not to have a watch face so I can access (or ignore) my data on my terms, whenever I want to. The Garmin Connect app itself could use a bit of a facelift (some of the features aren't as intuitively laid out or accessed, but with enough exploring in the app you can figure it out). My CIRQA still hasn't auto-tracked any activities for me, which is kind of a bummer but I may just be in the calibrating phase still. It's not that hard to manually start/stop an activity anyways. Overall, worth the purchase!
I’ve had mixed experiences so far. Auto-detection for cycling is hit or miss — sometimes it picks up my ride automatically, sometimes it doesn’t register at all. For running, the only metric I can see is heart rate, which is disappointing — I’d really like pace and speed to show up on the app too. I also tried using the elliptical tracking feature, and it just stopped working partway through the workout for no clear reason.
Overall the core idea is solid, but there are enough bugs and inconsistencies right now that I can’t fully recommend it yet. Hoping future updates iron these out.
I bought the CIRQA, when it was launched, so I have been using it for a month now. Everything has been fine so far, but the reason a gave it 4 stars is because: the battery life, it only last 7 days at the most, not the 10 days advertised. And I don’t even record activities with it, nor do I have the Pulse Ox, on all the time, only while sleeping. For a device that doesn’t have a screen, the battery life should be longer than 10 days or at the very least, the 10 days it was advertised. The other thing is that, it must have a bug or something, because it keeps telling me that “my bed time is approaching”, when in reality, my bed time is still 11 hours away. Those were the cons, now the pros: -Is very light. -If the band gets wet, it dries quickly, even if worn. -It charges very fast, it takes like 20 mins to go from 5% to 100%. -So far, it has synchronized with the Connect App, with no problems. -Is very accurate with the steps counting. -It has been detecting my naps, something my other Garmin watches, struggled with. Overall I’d say that I’m happy with it, is doing what I intended and purchased for which is, to keep recording my everyday/lifestyle data, without having to wear my beloved but bulky Forerunner or Fenix. For my hard core workouts, I’m still wearing my Forerunner 965, and all keep doing it until it dies on me.
Big elements first - this one device captures all the health and exercise data I am use to from Garmin but with no distracting screen. I have had it for about 2 weeks and have recharged once (mainly because it was down to 10% right before going to bed). It is a great passive collector of data points. Be aware it does NOT have its own GPS, so you must piggyback off your connected phone. I've noticed that it does not really track 'Intensity Minutes' which is a Garmin Unit but in return I am getting HRV, Training Load, and Training Readiness scores. Purchased this for several reasons. I am a long time Garmin product user and view most of my health related data via their Garmin Connect app and I trust the information it is giving me. Especially with Garmin new investment in Training Peaks, I am excited about what I learn. Also, I like traditional wrist watches and now I can wear both. And finally unlike competitors, NO SUBSCRIPTION fee!!!
Just bought it wore it for a week and had to stop wearing it. The sensor on the band sticks out, it’s like a little bump, but it irritates your wrist so badly. Even if you wear it looser or move it around, it doesn’t matter, very big design flaw. If the sensor was flat like the Fitbit models, this would be amazing. Pretty good app, very disappointed. I had high hypes.
