Not a Smart Watch Substitute

I thought I would try the CIRQA Smart Band as a possible replacement for my old Garmin Epix Gen 2 watch. It is not that i don't like my watch, its just that I have other nice watches that I like to wear but am reluctant to do so because I, admittedly, am probably over addicted to the constant stream of info that I receive from my Garmin watch. The CIRQA Smart Band seemed like a perfect solution...I could wear my nice watches and the CIRQA and still receive all the stats that are important to me. My exercise routine consists mainly of walking indoor, walking outdoor, strength training, indoor rowing and treadmill running. Of those exercises, the only one that my CIRQA produced reasonable accurate training info was the strength training - mainly since it doesn't involve measuring distances. I know that the CIRQA does not have GPS so it is impossible for it to measure distance without you phone. The problem is that without measuring distances on those type of exercises, it does not produce reliable distance or calorie count info (those are the two most important stats for me). So, I continue to use the Garmin watch when exercising and the CIRQA only when I am not wearing my Garmin watch and just want to continue having steps, calories, heart rate, sleep stats, etc. info available. I found it to be accurate for that type of information. You just have to remember to go thru the steps to change your primary device from watch to CIRQA and vice versa ( a bit annoying). In conclusion, the CIRQA is a good device to provide supplemental info when you do not want to wear a smart watch, but it is not a substitute for a good smart watch. PS. I just ordered the new Fenix 9 Pro so I may not be wearing my other dress watches much...at least until the newness wears off.
I wanted to get the Whoop but didn’t want to pay the monthly fee. I was really excited when the Cirqa came out. I’ve had it a few weeks so still waiting on some of the reports to come in. The training readiness, sleep score and performance reports have been great to me identify areas I can improve my health. I feel like I’m becoming more aware of my fitness.
I sent this band back immediately. First, I ordered the smaller size because my wrist circumference was in that range, but because the clasp doesn't really come apart, I couldn't get my hand through it. Secondly, I think the sensor device is way too long. I'm sure this will change when the second generation comes out. I'll wait until you get the bugs out.
I have had my Cirqa for about a month now . I really like it . 4 stars because it seems to disconnect and I have to remove the device and reconnect as if it were a brand new device . A bit of an inconvenience.
