A Stylish Little Mic With a Bright Red Attitude

The HyperX SoloCast is honestly one of the coolest little mics I’ve owned. It looks sharp, and that red light on the front gives it a bit of personality. I also love how the top section tilts back — it naturally lines up with your voice without any fuss.
Now, it does skip a few features I usually insist on, like a headphone jack for monitoring and built‑in gain or volume controls. But the tap‑to‑mute is great: tap the top, the red light goes out, and you instantly know you’re muted.
It’s a cardioid mic, so it picks up what’s right in front of it and rejects most of the extra noise around you. When you factor in the price, it’s a genuinely solid starter mic for anyone on a budget.

I have it on a boom arm and it’s lightweight and the quick on/off/mute makes it good for life’s surprises while streaming. I love having it instead of relying on a built-in mic with my headset.
The only downside is it picks up everything, and i mean everything. The fan in the other room, the fridge, the PC’s cooling fan. I just see the input moving in the equalizer. It doesn’t have any software that I could find to help control it better

I love how long the cord is to plug it in. The voice quality is really good even when you are farther away.

Easy to connect, lightweight, and great sound qual

I also love how lightweight and portable it is — you can take it anywhere without it feeling heavy or bulky.
The sound quality is pretty good: clear and crisp, although it doesn’t have strong noise cancellation, so the audio can drop a bit in very noisy environments. Still, it works perfectly for home recordings, video calls, or even for gamers who want to chat with friends while playing.

The size makes it easy to set up without it getting in your way. My only con is that it does pick up background noise but I feel that is to be expected to some extent. Overall it is a great mic for casual gaming.
