Great Laptop (if you get Googlebook)

The hardware is great (aside from the occasional balky fingerprint scanner). Incredibly thin and light, and the sound is amazing from such a thin device. My experience with Google OS has been fine for the most part. Connectivity with my Pixel 10 pro XL has been somewhat inconsistent when moving from on wifi network to another, and it apparently does not mirror apps from the phone when using the hotspot connection. I do advise that you frequently check for updates on your googlebook and you phone to minimize the initial bugginess.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lack of Applications
on October 14, 2026

I didn't realize how many applications are not available for this operating system yet. Youtube Tv and Enduring Word are an example of two I had to set up through Chrome.
Concentrate on solving this issue or your sales will suffer dramatically.

Dear Dale,

Thank you for your comment.

We certainly understand your your disappointment with the GoogleBook and the inconvenience this may have caused if not many applications are available. This GoogleBook handles applications differently than Windows or Mac, but you can usually get full functionality by using Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) or Android apps via the Google Play Store. To run Youtube and Enduring Word, sinply open a Chrome Web browser and enter the the applications web sites. If this is your first experience with a Googlebook, We recommend using the HELP file incorporated within the OS. To access HELP, please click your profile picture on the Notification Bar, located on the lower right-hand corner of the Home screen then click the question mark icon or widget. For more help, please go visit Google Support webpage at: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/16980619?hl=en&ai1hc=1 .

Should you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I will be more than glad to help. Or you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.

Google ook Not Ready

As of now this launch seems rushed or not ready since the biggest advertised features from Google and ASUS do not work with my Android 17 phone (Fold 8). Misleading and vague advertising for sure. Will give a few weeks then return if needed.

Dear Travwill,

Thank you for your comment.

We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing issues with youe Android 17 phone with the Googlebook. To resolve this, clear peripheral data protections. Click the Status bar (time) in the bottom-right corner of your Chromebook screen and open Settings, navigate to Security and Privacy. look for Data access protection for peripherals and toggle it OFF. Unpair your phone, restart both devices, and try connecting again. Refresh the Google "Connected Devices" sync. On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Connected devices, click on your Galaxy Z Fold 8 and select Disconnect or Forget. On your phone, go to Settings > Connected devices > Chromebook and ensure it is cleared out. Re-initiate the setup wizard from the Chromebook's Connected devices menu. Ensure both your Fold 8 and your ASUS Googlebook are signed into the exact same primary Google Account. Additonally, update Google Play services on Android 17 and turn off Android Hotspot during pairing. Connect both devices to a standard local Wi-Fi network or a local router instead during the initial pairing sequence

Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help.
