This vacuum cleaner is my new best friend! It cleans the floors and rugs and then empties it into the bin at the docking station. I researched other brands, but I am brand loyal to Dyson. It has made house cleaning less irritable. Great purchase for me.
We have a Golden Retriever and Bassett Hound who shed A LOT! We bought this unit because of the good reviews for pet hair. The robot does a great job both on hardwood and carpet vacuuming up their hair. But man… is it ever loud when emptying the dust bin! The noise overtakes anything you might be saying or listening to! And it empties A LOT! If it were quieter, I’d give it 5 stars.
Great job on the product Dyson but please tell me what can be done about the emptying noise!
Bought this unit a month ago. It does a great job at cleaning up all my floors. One thing though is sometimes having app connectivity issues that come and go. Good product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you for the great feedback! We are so glad to hear your unit is doing a wonderful job cleaning your floors. If you are facing issues with the app connectivity, kindly reach out to our live chat or call support through dyson.com so our team can help you with this.
I replaced my Dyson 360 robot vacuum with this one and I simply don’t understand why you would design a container to catch the dirt that has all these different areas where carpet fibers and cat hair can get stuck. It’s like maze there.
Being advertised as a Pet Owners product, I was expecting far more versatility out of it. I keep having an issue of hair being pulled into the fine dirt top section of the dust bin, as well as hair now being taken out of the lower compartment leaving the need for frequent cleaning and hair removal. The self cleaning brushroll does decent besides the edges of it building up quite a bit. The dust bin is also quite small despite how it was marketed and with the size of the device itself, you would think it would be much larger than your average robot, but its barely bigger. For houses with small dogs that have short hair and no women, it would probably be fine, but my medium amd long haired dogs and wife make this thing clog up very quickly, and with it not expelling the hair even though its set to empty every 8 minutes is problematic, perhaps a redesign would help it out, maybe even make the dust bin a little taller to add capacity since it has the lidar towers height to work with and that secondary flap for the lower part of the bin is just too small to let debris out. Lastly, it has some problems docking where it docks, then doesnt empty, so it goes about 3ft(~1m) from the dock, re-docks and does it a few times until it finally empties. It also likes to wander around the house a bit before it goes to the room its supposed to clean. Won't just put the bad though. The mapping is phenomenal, when it gets stopped, it tries to move again instead of just staying limp until we come and help it, when it can empty, that dock has pretty darn good suction and with it being a canister, we dont have to mess with bags. App customization is very well done, and the room adjustments are decently easy to do. I really want to see a revision to the dust bin and the brush guard for that dust collection tech, because it seems like it wasnt designed with ling haired dogs in mind
We have lived with "LUNA" for a few weeks now, and she is mostly great! We appreciate how she empties and charges between rooms, and how quiet she is on Auto. Quiet mode isn't strong enough to deal with the pet hair, and Boost mode is a little disruptive (albeit brilliant at picking up all the debris).
She has only gotten stuck/confused once under an end table, and has avoided challenges like cords and cables nicely.
It took a few days to get her familiar with the space, and we quickly found the limits of the amount of dog hair she can pick up. If we don't run her everyday, her bin quickly gets overwhelmed and has to be manually emptied. This is one of the reasons for the 4 stars.
It seems the bin has a design flaw, in that the handle utilizes space within the bin - removing precious volume for debris and creating "Pinch points" for hair to get trapped. (See picture).
The other reason for falling short of 5 stars...lack of a tool to clean the brush. I have 3 women with long hair, and I'm not expecting the brush to be tangle free, but having a tool to clean it out would be nice. Thankfully, I kept the tool from my previous robot.
We still love LUNA. And, I need to say Thank You to Dyson for developing a vaccuum only robot! Although we have one level of 2,500 square feet of tile, we just needed help with keeping up with the dog hair. If a redesign of the bin solved the hair getting hung up when being emptied at the docking station, it would have been 6 stars!
Mapping is kinda weak. Needs to be a clear easy to set up no go zones. The cleaning is ok, but be careful it will shred area rugs and make a mess in the roller mechanism. Again, thd cleaning is just OK, not great, not bad, but my old Roomba 700 series stands a mile high above this average thing.
This is an amazing machine. For years I had dogs that do not shed. Then comes in an Irish wolfhound puppy that is wide open and sheds like crazy. I was vacuuming, and I am not fibbing six or seven times a day. Now that vacuum is a Dyson so I am very acquainted with the endurance of these products. I got the robot and I purposely got the vacuum only version. Wow! I am so pleased. I had one of the original robot vacuums approximately fifteen years ago and what a pain it was to maintain! So, I was hesitant at first to get another but hey, it has been fifteen years! There have been so many improvements that you can really just set it and forget it. I love too that I can start it remotely like if I am running to the store or something. The best part I guess though is the price. I researched high and low and the Dyson is mid range. Don’t spend thousands on one of these when you can get this kind of quality for much less. My advice, don’t hesitate, it works!
