We recently remodeled out kitchen and were looking for a sleek and simple design that complimented our shaker cabinets. This range hood was priced really well and a lot less money than other hoods we looked at. We had an electrician install it as the installation process was beyond our ability. This range hood works well and looks amazing! We could not be more pleased with it. If we ever need another hood, we’ll be purchasing from this site.

After using our new range hood for a few weeks, we can say that so far we are quite pleased. The styling of the KE-36-400, even though modern, does blend well with our slightly more traditional kitchen. The fan is quiet, especially on the lower settings, and we find that we rarely need the highest setting anyway. The lower settings eliminate odors just fine if we run it during the actual cooking, even fish odors! The lights are awesome, and we love that you can adjust the angle, although a wonderful improvement would be to have the adjust brightness as well (for a night light setting). Overall, a terrific product!
HOWEVER, I will say that the installation directions leave a lot to be desired. We are a moderately handy couple, with renovation experience and a selection of tools, but this took us several hours to install. The instructions show only the KB model, which is slightly confusing; in addition, the illustrations are tiny. It would have been so helpful to have a template for the screw mount holes; such a simple addition of a piece of paper to the kit! Instead you must either make your own template, or hold that heavy unit up to the wall and mark the hole locations. Integration of the crown molding was poorly explained, and we had to laugh after it took us 30 minutes to figure out how to remove the baffles, it is NOT intuitive! And, grease cup? Huh? Oh - it's that little piece of plastic that looks like a piece of the packaging, so be careful not to toss it! We muddled through and successfully installed the unit, but during the process our comments went along this line: "I could write such better instructions for this!" A small investment of time for improved diagrams and instructions could make the buyer experience so much better. Other reviewers commented that they didn't have much trouble with the installation, so maybe we are less competent than we think, but for a product that is sold for DIY, instructions are a major component. Thank you to the other reviewer who explained how the fan buttons work, since there are no instructions for that, either!
Overall, a very good range hood, and we would purchase again; but one star off for the instructions!
