I've had this installed for about 2 months now, and the one upshot is that the design fit exactly what I was looking for at a price that didn't break the bank.
However, the balance on the motor is pretty bad. With 4 speed settings, i can only use levels 1 and 2. Going any higher has really bad vibration that rattles dishes in the cabinets and on the counter as well as within the grease baffles on the unit itself. Really annoying rattle.
Adding to those balance issues, the unit only attaches to the wall at 2 points, and loosely hangs without a way to tighten it down. So the motor balance contributes further to vibration by rattling the whole unit against the wall at higher fan speeds.
The controls aren't difficult to learn, but there is absolutely zero operating instructions included. To turn on is not just hitting the speed, first hit the 'power' button, then your speed. And at shutdown, initially you will think you are turning the fan off, but really you are starting a countdown timer for shut-off the first time you click the power button. Clicking the power a second time will immediately shut the unit down.
If it wasn't for the major vibration issues, this unit would be amazing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Attractive unit but had to rebuild the display lights and under unit lights electronics to get them to operate properly. Fit and finish is good. Works great after some TLC.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Super Hood Vent

I bought this and installed it myself. It was overall very easy. Just have to figure out where you want it placed abouve the cooktop. The looks are very nice. Used it for a month or so and the fans speeds are more than I expected. The high fan speed works really well if you have created a lot of fumes. Overall it was a great deal for the price.

This hood is very attractive and functional. I love the adjustable lights. However, even on the low setting the fan is very loud.

The product dimensions were consistent with the drawings so it fit well with our design.
Installation was easy and after about a month of use there are no surprises with the product.
