It is way thinner, lighter, and feels amazing in the hand without that awkward, bulky feel of older foldables. Opening it up gives you a gorgeous, huge inner screen with a crease you barely even notice, while the cover display is finally wide enough to type on naturally without fumbling.
Beyond the sleek new look, the day to day performance is a total game changer. Everything runs ridiculously smooth, the cameras deliver sharp photos in any light, and the battery life finally delivers. You can actually blast through a heavy day of multitasking and screen time without constantly eyeing your power percentage or hunting for a wall outlet.

Great device, but falls short.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the fold 8 ultra because of the enhanced features over the fold 8. It's disappointing that the ultra is still a skinny device when they could capitalize and making this device essentially a slab phone that opens. Additionally, battery is still behind competition, cameras are behind competition, charging capabilities are behind competition, and worse of all, they still don't have built in magsafe into the phone??? You have to buy a special expensive case for that to work. That's unacceptable. The cameras are vertical, so almost no wireless battery packs work, because of the camera. Why aren't we making it horizontal? The selfie camera on the cover screen is fine, but it's distracting when unfolded. It seems unnecessary to have a selfie camera on the inside, so that should be removed or use the under the screen camera you use to have. It's a good phone, with great UI, but they are not the best around anymore.
