The Solar Cam Pan is a much awaited outdoor camera. Hopefully the next firmware upgrade will address the spotlight not working if there is a little residual light from street lights.
I was hesitant to buy a solar camera after reading mostly bad reviews from a few years back. Things have definitely gotten better I have had this camera up for 3 weeks in cloudy Michigan and battery still at 100%. I will definitely recommend this camera and will buy more the camera is impressive
The resolution isn’t the greatest and doesn’t capture movement very well. I may have it mounted too high 15’.

Hello there! It is recommended to mount the camera 7-10 feet high, angled 30° downward for better motion detection.

Poor tracking. Does not detect efficiency as other cams.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have the cameras mounted on a fence approximately 150 ft from my wireless access point and both maintain a very solid connection. I use them to watch critters that cross my yard, mostly deer and coyotes. I do wish the camera had an option to track them and not just people.
The pan camera is great, the solar/battery not so.

Bought two solar pan cams. One gets five stars, the other gets 3 stars. Both are installed in the north side of the house. The solar panels face slightly west. The first one has maintained a constant charge of around 65%. The second one (which gets more sun than the first one) can’t seem to hold charge well in a cloudy day. I have had to plugged it to get it back to an acceptable level of charge. Last night it was snowing and the charge level dropped from 63 to 34%. I was forced to turned it off to conserve power. Two criticisms, 1. The solar panels might be two small for areas where they can’t be south facing. 2. The battery of the second one doesn’t seem to hold charge as well as the other one.
