Replaced a well worn Tumi Alpha Bravo with the Search Backpack. Great design inside and out. Well thought our internal pockets and spaces. Very pleased.
Great so Far! I wish the backpack had feet or a rubberized bottom, am worried about the bottom holding up over time. That said the bag is very well designed and holds a lot of stuff for such a small footprint. Have taken 4 flights with it and only have owned it for less than a month and it fit very well under the seat on airplanes with no problems. Handles are well placed. Just wish the bottom was rubberized for durability.
I bought this backpack for my son who is graduating from high school & leaving for college. He loves it!! Great looking & very functional. Tumi never disappoints.
Waited to rate until I could travel with it. Really an excellent bag. Stands up on its own loaded or mostly empty. Great pockets and liner color makes it easy to find items. So comfortable with one strap or two and stacks on suitcase perfectly. Superior to Fjalraven which was my last work bag. Exceeding my expectations from a performance and aesthetics standpoint. Make sure to personalize before checkout. I got excited to purchase and missed the opportunity!!
This backpack was everything I was looking for in a travel/work backpack. It is nice looking, functional, light to carry, and has substantial storage spaces for all my things. I am very pleased with this bag so far and it was a great bag to have when I recently traveled to Europe. I highly recommend this backpack.
This is a winner! Solid travel backpack, great for long weekend one bag travel.

I am a long time Tumi customer, having bought multiple suitcases, shoulder bags and backpacks over the years. This review is after using the backpack for about a month, including two 4-day trips across the country.
The Search represents the culmination of a lot of refinements from previous backpacks like the Shepard and Nellis, and Nathan backpacks. When shopping for a travel backpack, I bought both the Search and the Navigation, but found the Navigation too similar to the Nellis which I own, which is better suited as an EDC work bag. For the Search, I wanted a backpack that could function as a more travel focused backpack, large enough to hold 3-4 days' worth of clothes and supplies and it definitely ticks those boxes. I especially appreciate the side pockets which are shaped and large enough to securely hold an 18 oz Hydro Flask, and most collapsible umbrellas. It is comfortable to wear even when fully packed out, and I love how it stands up on its own. The zippers are also easy to open one-handed, which is an underrated featured especially when you're in a tight space (eg: middle seat) and need to grab something quickly. I also love the hidden magnetic pocket at the top, which is perfect for when you need to drop your phone into your bag before walking through airport security.
I don't plan to use the exterior webbing to attach anything yet, as I prefer a sleeker carry, but appreciate that it's there to use in a pinch for something like extra shoes, jackets etc. As far as packing is concerned, I can store full medium and small Peak Design cubes, a toiletries bag, 14" MBP, tech cables/kit, umbrella and a 16-18 oz water bottle. The backpack will be full, but balanced and not bursting at the seams.
The Search quality is right up there and what I've come to expect from Tumi. Yes, it's more expensive than other options on the market, but I do believe you do get what you pay for which includes customer support for repairs and such.
