Violet ZFold8 Ultra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This year of the Z Series had me. Going into the Unpacked stream I was set on getting another Z Flip. However, Samsung outdid themselves. Not only unveiling a great lineup of colors for the series, but introducing a smaller Fold8 and rebranding the larger phone as "Ultra". After some serious back and forth, I chose the ZFold8 Ultra. The ZFold8 almost won because it was so unique.
As a college student and a coach this device has done wonders in terms of productivity with the larger inner display being able to multi-task apps such as video and note taking but also just casual phone use.
Even the cover screen feels really nice to use while scrolling social media or texting. The slim design feels great in my hand compared to stretching across and potentially dropping my previous S25 Ultra.
The violet color option is part of the "why" i chose this phone because it is my favorite color. However, the ability to multi-task efficiently across apps, whether it be note taking during lecture or footage breakdown or just comparing hotel rates for a vacation, its well executed. The pocket sized tablet is great for a busy person on the go.
It would be the perfect productivity device if the S-pen (w/Bluetooth) found a way back into the ZFold series. Outside of that, I do not regret getting this phone and happy I choose the ZFold8 Ultra.

Nice upgrade from the Fold 5

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My trusty Fold 5 was beginning to need an upgrade, so I chose the new Fold 8 Ultra as a replacement. Going from the 5 to the 8 there is a significant difference that one might not recognize if they have the Fold 7. In my case, the upgrade gave me a much thinner device and more real estate on the front screen which was always an issue for my hands. Although this phone is larger, it is lighter than my old 5 and the slim form factor is super sleek comparatively. I had been holding out hoping, like alot of us, that the S Pen function would be not only incorporated but also a built in slot for it. Having been an early user of the Galaxy series for many years, I always had a Note and the pen was the reason. I have opted for a thin case on my new 8 and it is so much easier to carry everyday compared to the 5. I always get the special colors early and the purple this year is a winner. The battery life is decent for a Fold where your mileage depends on how much you use your Fold out screen to stream. The seam is almost nonexistent on this 8, especially compared to the 5 I came from. The camera is a slight upgrade, I just wish we got the S series phone since this is the flagship. Overall, I am pleased with this upgrade and as I use it to type this review, I really enjoy the clarity and size of the fold out screens. As a part of the Samsung universe, my Galaxy watch and buds all interface seamlessly as well. Hope this helps you today.

A good step up

Top Tier Flagship Device

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was unsure whether I would use all the features that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra offer, but I'm pleased to say I chose this device and the phone makes me want to learn everything it can do. When folded the device is perfectly pocketable and the front screen is fully functional; I can't believe how thin and light it is. I don't miss any real estate. If I need or want more screen for productivity or entertainment, it's easy enough to open the device and get to it. The hinge feels solid, I have no doubts of how resilient this device is.
Beyond the hardware, the software is what I expect from a flagship device. The phone performs exceptionally well and the features conducive to maximizing benefit from the expansive inner screen are a snap to learn.

Wonderful phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to be honest, I was on the fence for getting the fold 8 ultra due to my fold 5 still working well. I had small gripes with like battery and camera. I decided to make the plunge and I chose the fold 8 ultra. The device blew my expectations away with the camera/battery quality and the speed of the device. I'm incredibly happy with it. It's done me good and if someone is on the fence I would recommend going to a store that has them in person to get an idea of how they feel in the hand. I prefer this size over my fold 5 as it was so narrow. The fold 8 ultra is a nicer wide size what allows my fingers the freedom to move around. I'm excited to see what's next

Z Fold 8 Ultra review after honeymoon stage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose to upgrade my Z Fold 6 to the Z Fold 8 Ultra and I don't regret my choice but at the same time I'm not too thrilled with it. One of the biggest reasons for the upgrade was the significant weight difference and the thinness of the ohone. For those things I got exactly what I paid for, but for other things, it works the same as the Z Fold 6. While the battery is much larger and I would say more efficient when in use, there isn't very much difference in performance that I notice as an everyday user. Furthermore, there was something that was removed that I actually really liked about my Z fold 6, not sure if it was within this generation or the 7th generation that I do not appreciate. The camera cutout, being able to back that out al that when I have the main screen open I don't see the gaping whole was a very cool feature on the 6 that the I ultra doesn't have. Other than that like I said, not impressive and I don't regret my choice but I could have probably waited for another generation to come out before upgrading.
