I got one from a big box store and it didn't adjust (even though the web description said it would). In store they told me I would have to order some ginormously expensive unit. I found this one and with the short adjustment kit it worked beautifully. Great price for the same thing I found in local stores for much higher.

I really like the sleek lines and quality of the hood overall. Room for improvement could be the quality of the screws that go into the ceiling joists, a paper template, and metal ducting instead of plastic. A plastic one would melt in a fire and cause potential fire inside attic.

No operation manual

Installed for customer, easy install, took 2 hours including several up and downs to insure proper location and height . Yes this is a 2 man process, take the glass off to make is more manageable. Not keen on the plastic vent. Biggest issue NO operation instruction. I'm getting constant calls now on how to operate the unit which seems to come on the first time then not the second. Is on a dedicated circuit with the stove only. After turning on stove, fan will not come back on, even after just turning it off.

Our range top island had no vent at all and after doing some shopping I chose The Range Hood Store and the z-line hood. We are very happy with our new vent system it is the center attraction now along with our Viking 5 burner gas cooktop.
