Modified for 8' ceiling

Love the appearance and function for the price. Unfortunately, I am 6' 2" and wanted to mount it at least 30" above the range, but due to the 8' ceilings in my house, it would only collapse to about 24" above the range. To get the unit about 32 inches above the range I had to I cut both of the stainless steel collars down by about 8 inches, then also reduce the length of the 'L' steel mounting brackets, and drill new mounting holes. After all the modifications, the unit was up off the range as high as I wanted, and all that was left was to shorten the flexible plastic exhaust pipe as needed to fit the smaller gap. In the end it works nicely, save for a small rattle noise at higher speeds. (rattle comes from the filter baffles)

Love the way it looks and works. The move able puck lights shine right where you need them. Installation was a snap and couldn't be more pleased with the overall product.

I have had this hood for almost a year now. We gutted and remodeled our kitchen and this looks gorgeous with our new open plan. The unit arrived very quickly, was easy for my contractors to install, and works great! (you can see the smoke from pans drawn up into it, so it has good power). I would recommend this item.

When we remodeled and moved our cooktop to a penninsula instead of in the corner, we worried that the openness we had created by removing upper cabinets would be compromised by an ugly hood hanging down in the middle of the open room. Not to worry. Its sleek appearance does not block the views. Many people make positive comments or inquiries about the hood. Very attractive. Actually adds to the pizazz of the room.
