[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Samsung Ultra Watch 2 in order to upgrade from my Samsung Watch 7. The watch 7 was excellent, and held out very well for 2 years. I normally get a new watch every 2 years, so it was time.
The watch is initially heavy, so I got a military grade band. The band was a bit cumbersome to use, but it works great.
The initial out of the box is impressive. It's a monster, and I'm excited about the possibilities. Everything seems about the same as my Watch 7, with the exception of upgraded sensors they've added in two years. I really bought it for the performance upgrade.
I run a lot, and the Watch 7 lagged behind on the heart monitor, and would occasionally not connect via GPS. I felt it should have gotten the accurate measurement, if it got one at all. My first run yesterday in the Ultra 2 connected quick, and I felt it was very accurate on the heartbeat. I was up in the 160's in the heat when strenuous, and was able to start back running in the 130's when rested after walking. I felt it very accurate. Overall I was very happy with the performance.
I also slept it in last night, and the sleep measurements seemed legit. It was down to about 92% after charging before bed, and that seems excellent.
My only request is I wished Strava and Samsung Health worked together better. I am not switching to Samsung Health when all my buddies are on Strava. I have to turn off the auto-detect too. It always thinks I'm walking when I take a shower, lol.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The setup process, swtiching from my older watch to refistering the ultra 2 seemed much faster and smoother process than before. The new sensors for blood pressure is exciting to have on this new version. Calibration for bp went smoothly and well guided by the health app. Will be testing battery life next. Display looked good as well.
Downside is my old stand charger does not work with the ultra2 and will need to be replaced, or have to use the button charger cable that came with the watch.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was ready to upgrade my Samsung Watch 4, I chose the Samsung Galaxy Ultra 2 over other watches and bands due to its features and compatibility with my other Samsung devices. I wanted to take advantage of all the new health features and totally awestruck with the accuracy when I compare other devices readings to my Samsung Watch! EKG and blood pressure readings were spot on when compared to a Kardia mobile and analog blood pressure cuff. Im looking forward to trying the other available apps and readings with the new upgrade (sleep apnea, vitals, etc. Highly recommended so far!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose to upgrade my 2024 Ultra to the Ultra 2, mainly two reasons, bigger battery and better visually in outdoor activities. The size of the watch is similar but a smidge thinner.
Also, I chose to upgrade since the value of the 2024 Ultra is the same value as the 2025 Ultra. Easy choice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This watch so far has been excellent. More intuitive than other models I've played around with. I chose the Ultra 2 because of how much it reminds me of more traditional watches with its look and feel. But, with all the features that come with a smartwatch.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best watch period. Does everything I expected. Bold, strong looking with presence. Attention to detail. I wear this over my Rolex daily.
I always upgrade my watches and this years upgrade
