[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from Galaxy Watch 7 to Watch 9. I chose the squircle design! Super clear display, solid fitness tracking, and the battery is surprisingly good!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I traded my Watch 7 for the Watch 9. I like the look of the watch. The battery life has definitely improved. I like the faster charging but the lack of ability to order additional chargers has me a bit frustrated. Other than that; I am pleased with the watch.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the galaxy watch upgrading from the galaxy watch 7. I love the new look and how the interface works. I am excited to use all the fitness upgrades.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Samsung Watch 9 44 mm because I wanted a smartwatch that could combine style, health tracking, fitness features, and seamless connectivity with my smartphone. After using it regularly, I can say that it has been a very positive experience overall.
From the moment I started using the watch, I noticed its premium design. The 44 mm size feels comfortable on my wrist, offering a large display that is easy to read both indoors and outdoors. The screen is bright, responsive, and provides excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. Navigating through menus, notifications, and apps feels smooth and intuitive.
One of the features I appreciate most is the health monitoring system. The watch tracks heart rate, sleep quality, daily activity, and workouts with impressive accuracy. I found the sleep tracking particularly useful because it helped me understand my sleeping habits and identify areas where I could improve my rest. The fitness tracking options are also extensive, making it easy to monitor walks, runs, cycling sessions, and other activities.
Battery life has been satisfactory for my daily needs. While heavy use of GPS and health monitoring can reduce battery performance, the watch generally lasts long enough to get through a full day without concern. Charging is also simple and relatively fast.
Another advantage is the integration with Samsung devices and Android smartphones. Notifications arrive instantly, and I can answer calls, read messages, and control
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose to upgrade from the Galaxy Watch 4 to the Watch 9 and I'm blown away. It has faster syncing, charging, great features and comfortable wear. So glad I made the upgrade!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Glad I chose to upgrade. Battery last longer and I also like the new features that were integrated.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose to upgrade my Watch 6 to a Watch 9 because I was experiencing a short battery life with my old watch and it would constantly disconnect from my phone despite being right next to it. I've only ever owned Samsung Smart watches. I was frustrated to discover upon receiving the watch that 1) the old watch chargers aren't compatible. 2) the old watch straps aren't compatible. I've since had to purchase an adapter so I can use all of the other types of watch straps I've purchased over the years for my past watches.
I've worn the 9 for a few days now. I'm not super impressed with battery life. I'm not sure the extra silver area around the watch face is necessary and miss just the round size/shape of the 6. It has done a better job of staying connected to my phone. The set up process was frustrating and had to restart it several times.
I like the watch strap that I got with it (misty sport band) and I like the ability to take my blood pressure with the watch. The different watch face options are nice. If Samsung Wallet is installed, you must have a pin set on the watch, which is a nice safety feature but not something I'm going to use. TBD if I end up liking this better than I did with the 6 when it came out. I know the new features are supposed to be great but I hesitate to introduce AI and all that it would have access to so I am not utilizing those functions as of now.

Response from Samsung USBy R&R Team, August 21, 2026
Good day Andi123, Thanks for reaching out to share your insights with us regarding your initial impression of the Samsung Galaxy Watch9. Your constructive feedback allows us to continue innovating while we make improvements on our product line to better align with the needs of our customers. The Galaxy Watch9 is a massive generational leap over the Galaxy Watch6. It features a much faster Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, brighter outdoor display, larger battery capacity, advanced AI health analytics like Fitness Index and Cardio Load, and hands-free "Raise to Talk" Gemini AI integration. The high-efficiency Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite platform greatly boosts your device speed and fluidity. Outdoor visibility has vastly improved, reaching up to 3,000 nits compared to the Galaxy Watch 6's 2,000 nits. The Galaxy Watch9 40mm version has a 390 mAh battery while the 44mm version offers a 445 mAh battery. The higher capacity allows your Galaxy Watch9 to require less frequency in charging. This means you can keep the Watch powered throughout the day with minimal downtime. While you're using your Galaxy Watch9 without enabling AOD, you should expect to receive about 40 hours of usage time. Up to 30 hours if you're utilizing AOD! The Galaxy Watch9 utilizes a proprietary charging layout and a deeper internal sensor stack. Its redesigned health sensors push the internal charging coil further from the outer casing, making the watch incompatible with flat Qi chargers, older watch pucks, and direct phone reverse charging. You can still reverse-charge the watch using a Galaxy phone by plugging the in-box USB-C puck directly into the phone's port. If you're experiencing less than anticipated battery life on your new device, please take a moment to review the resources shared below to help resolve what you may be experiencing. If you have any questions for us or if you would like further assistance, please let us know by reaching out to Samsung Support. Thank you for being a faithful Samsung customer. - Debra
