Received this gift to replace an older toaster that has seen better days. The stainless steel look of this GE toaster looks outstanding along with my other stainless steel products from GE.

Burning smell

Overall the toaster is great. There was a burning smell throughout the whole house at first but not anymore. Have to really increase on the dial just to get a bread toasted

As the elements heat up for the first time, a smell is expected to occur as they cure. We recommend that the toaster be set to the maximum heat and placed in a well ventilated room.
