A refreshing new form factor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this upgrade to the Fold 8 because I was interested in the new form factor due to how cramped the cover screen of the Fold 6 felt for daily usage. I will say this was an immediate and very noticeable improvement and I actually prefer the wider format for my use case as a fun portable phone with a big screen experience, the lack of telephoto camera doesn't bother me too much since I prefer to carry my actual camera if I plan to get true higher end quality that only a true camera like a mirrorless could provide anyway. Time will tell so far if battery has made a noticeable improvement.

My Fold 8 Does It All. Work, Play, and Everything

For work, the big inner display is a game changer. I can have my email open alongside a document or run two apps side-by-side when I'm juggling calls and notes during meetings. It basically replaced my laptop for quick tasks when I'm out of the office.

When it's time to unwind, the unfolded screen makes streaming shows and movies feel almost tablet-sized no more squinting at a tiny phone screen during my commute. Sports fans will appreciate it too; I've caught full games with stats overlays open in a split screen without ever feeling cramped.
Gaming has also been a pleasant surprise. The extra screen real estate makes strategy games and anything with detailed UI so much more immersive, and the multitasking lets me keep a Discord chat open while I play.

Battery life has held up well across all this heavy use, and the foldable design still feels sturdy and premium after months of daily folding and unfolding. It's rare that one device fits this many parts of my routine so seamlessly the Fold 8 has genuinely become the one gadget I reach for no matter what I'm doing that day.

New Shape Same Great Experience

I chose the fold 8 due to new design it just makes sense. Look forward to scrolling through videos and watching lots of YouTube on this device!
