Loving my Z Fold 8 Ultra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just got my Z Fold Ultra 8. This is my third Z Fold and boy howdy am I'm glad I upgraded. The camera is the best camera on any phone I've compared it to. I have family and friends who choose a different brand and my Ultra 8 blows them away. I just wish that the bring back a feature that was on the FOLD 3 which had a pin feature. If you were looking up a certain model number or got a code for something you would copy it and then pin it somewhere on your screen instead of flipping back and forth. Please bring that back on the next update!!!

It's a lot better the the previous zfold.

Beast of a phone (Fold 8 Ultra)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first foldable device, and although I've wanted to get one for a while it just wasn't the right time. Boy, I'm glad I did now! I chose the Fold 8 Ultra because I wanted "the best" of the best. It took maybe 30 minutes for my fingers to get used to certain things, but now that I have I can't imagine ever going back to a regular slab, non folding phone.
Multitasking in particular feels so easy and natural, particularly when unfolded. It's smooth, intuitive, and incredibly satisfying and FUN to use. Cameras have been perfectly fine for my use so far, I haven't noticed much difference coming from the s25 ultra... Maybe just zoom isn't quite as good but not too noticeable in day to day.
I'm also so please with how little I've felt like I need to "baby" this phone. Obviously I'm going to take care of it, but it's way sturdier and I actually feel like I can just... Use it, and not worry. Brightness, anti reflective, is all so good.
It can get a little warm if pushing full peak brightness, outdoors on a hot day, while using the camera.. otherwise it's been fantastic on cooling.
Best of all: the battery. My goodness, this thing has been so good for me. Been getting better battery than even my s25 ultra, and I'm usually unfolded using the huge display rather than the outer. Haven't killed it yet, usually getting 6+ hours of SoT by the end of a full day (730 off the charger), with 50% or so left. Beast.

I love the Folds but the camera cutout made me out

I LOVE the Folds!! I got the Fold8-Ultra (upgraded from the Fold5) for the extra display space! It's beautiful, and flat, and matte! BUT... that camera cutout!!! An icon-sized black hole on your videos, all your videos, positioned so that it shows up in almost any way you turn your phone or adjust the screen. There *IS* a way to add a black border (through the OS) that runs down the whole side so that you don't notice the glaring black dot, but then ... that defeats the whole purpose of the additional real estate on the screen. I sent mine back. Apparently the Fold6 is the last Fold that does NOT have the camera cutout in the screens.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Living With the Galaxy Note 8 Ultra

The phone is good, and the most noticeable upgrade is the reduced crease. The display looks smoother and more refined, making everyday use feel more seamless.
The wireless charging heat issue remains the same as what I experienced with the Fold 7, so that’s one area where Samsung hasn’t made progress.
Battery life, however, is better. The 5000mAh silicon battery retains power longer, giving me more reliable usage throughout the day and reducing the need for mid‑day charging.
Overall, it’s a good product with meaningful upgrades in display quality and battery performance, even though the heating issue persists.
