I purchases two SPI3's for my computer room to replace an Alen 45I and a Winix T830. The SPI3's have substantially higher CADR performance than either of those units. They also measure VOCs as well as PM2.5 which neither of those two units do. The filter is also technologically advanced being a 7 stage HEPAsilent filter filtering down to .1 microns and having the ability to filter out VOCs. I also like that the prefilter is removable and washable. I purchased two additional prefilters so that I can swap the prefilters when the used filters are being washed so I am not down as the filters are drying. I also purchased the wooden base to elevate the filters and add a custom look to the filters. Blueair, simply put, makes the best air purifiers on the market today having won various best-in-class awards for their products. I've already recommended the product to other members and friends of my family.
Blue Signature Medium with 4 Leg Base- Best Air Purifier I've seen yet!

The Blueair Blue Signature Medium Nordic Fog is the best air purifier I've come across so far. In particular, it has a large, effective filter, a sensor for both particles and VOCs, a great on-unit display system that only lights up when you move nearby, an excellent phone app for remote monitoring, control and scheduling... and my favorite : an effective yet extremely quiet fan! My primary concern is noise level and noise character and the Blue Signature Medium is by far the best I've seen or heard. At the highest speed, the noise character is not obtrusive and it becomes much less so as it slows down to the usual Low speed. Low speed is very quiet and the sound is unobtrusive., so that even I can easily sleep near it in a quiet room. But it gets even better with Night mode, which can be set in schedule. where it becomes almost silent. The fan blade design is unique, being in between a blade fan and a squirrel cage blower. The Blue Signature Medium has been performing brilliantly during the recent wildfire smoke, which is imperceptible indoors but quite obnoxious outdoors. For me, the optional wooden leg stand is a must as it raises the Blue Signature Medium off of the floor and to a more pleasing height. As it just rests atop the stand, any small stool would suffice. In comparison to other Blueair products I've experienced: The DustMagnet 5410, while competent, lacks the VOC sensor and while reasonably quiet, the squirrel cage blower design is nowhere near as unobtrusive as the Signature Medium. The incomparable Blueair Protect 7710i, a no-expense-spared, over-the-top giant, mostly metal monster excels in every category except one: the squirrel cage blower low-speed sound has a slight mechanical grumble to it, making it less suitable to quiet, small bedrooms, but it is gross overkill for such rooms anyway.Concerning an Internet Myth I've come across: like most, if not all Blueair products, the Signature Medium electrostatically charges the air so as to increase the effectiveness of the filter. This feature cannot be disabled. As there is no corona discharge to speak of, there is little-to-no ozone generation. At no time have I ever noticed the slightest trace of ozone from any Blueair product, even the giant 7710i running in a confined space, so the implementation seems sound.
I purchased the BlueairSignature several weeks ago and have been astonished at its sensing capabilities and air cleaning properties. This evening I was startled when--for seemingly no reason--it started operating at a high fan speed with the red light indicator on. My husband had been practicing golf swings on our foyer rug, repeatedly striking the rug. I wondered if by some chance it was related to the Blueair activity and Googled it. I was amazed to learn that it was directly related and was causing the release of toxic POCs as the club repeatedly struck the rug! At least I know the cause and solution, but this air cleaner is a life saver.
we have three cats and we replaced this system in our living room and it smells so much better. Love the air fresh sensor.Highly recommend if you have pets
I have the bigger model that is dead silent at the lowest speed. I returned this new medium sized unit since it was making a clicking notice at the lowest speed. Seems like the automatic speed controlled fan units aren't dead silent. I would recommend testing these units in almost in an anechoic chamber to truly hear all the noises.
This is one of the best, smartest and quite air purification units I have ever had. It literally detects everything and purifies everything immediately. So quite that you could keep it right next to your bed. Add the wooden leg base and it makes a perfect bedside table/nightstand.
