Expected better quality

This is our first speed queen purchase. We grew up hearing Speed queen was the best……. Finally bit the bullet and got the combo. Both dryer and washer perform great…. But the quality is lacking in areas that make the units feel cheap. The dryer door did not seal properly. The door itself was misaligned. Was told by local dealer this was normal and they just bend them to proper shape? This was not acceptable. They did install a new door at no cost. Better than the original, but still not flush. Makes the unit seem cheap and not of good quality. For reference, I went back to the showroom…. And the floor model had same issue. Seems as though the door to the dryer not being flush is a common issue that speed queen just accepts?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I replaced a very durable 31 yr old Kenmore Dryer and was very concerned with finding something that would last, have the options that I use and would be easy to use. This dryer is built solid. I was able to order a shoe drying rack for it, and has several options but is easy to use! I just put the clothes in, Push the options and it performs every time.

I have the dryer for about 2 months now and it is working great. It dries the clothing faster than my old gas dryer that was 22 years old. I also so far that I have no dryer lint on the vent outside that doesn’t need cleaning off regularly. The only thing I have noticed is I hear a hum from the motor of the dryer in the house than with the old dryer. The dryer is on a concrete floor.

Both the washer and dryer are wonderful. Its probably to early to tell , but from all the reviews and writeups I've read we think we will have them quite a long time.

Finally a machine that dries the entire load! With my old dryer, it took 2 cycles to dry 1 load.
