Living in a RV most of the year, and travelling a lot, I appreciate the compact design. Been using it for 6 weeks, and no problems. Not positive about the display. More display options, but haven’t found my preferred display. Still 5 *****

I purchased and installed the new Optimus weather sensor, HD display, Display Battery backup, and the NOW app in mid June 2025. After station installation I retired my very old Iris-based system but kept my Atlas system in place for data and feature comparisons.
Installation: The Optimus and HD display units were straightforward to install, and to connect to my home wireless network. The NOW app was also a standard app level install and connection process.
Usage: The HD display has a bright screen, and the buttons and functions are acceptable. The backup battery unit has already proven useful when a short home power loss recently occurred during a thunderstorm. Reading some of smaller font size numbers is a bit of a stretch from more that 3 feet away from the display. Changing the view feature is helpful, but I usually leave it on the outdoor temperature page.
The NOW app, however, should have a more chart-like detailed display, similar to Wunderground that I depend on daily. I would recommend that Acurite develop an upload package to link to Wunderground Personal Home Stations so it can integrate with existing data charts, displays, and other very useful features. Duplicating this in NOW seems more of an effort since it already exists across many home weather stations around the USA. I would be able to quickly check both my Atlas and Optimus stations showing identical graphs, charts, including data downloads. I suggest you don’t need to reinvent the wheel on the Optimus historical information monitoring capability.

We apologize if you are having trouble connecting your Optimus display to the Acurite NOW app, but we are happy to assist! Please make sure your display unit is in pairing mode by going to the Main Menu>Connections>Wi-Fi Setup. This will reacitvate the pairing mode for 30 minutes. Then open the AcuRite NOW app and tap the + button to add the Optimus Weather Station. Please allow the app time to search for your Optimus. It helps if your device with the AcuRite NOW app is located near the display while trying to pair. Once the Optimus sensor appears in your AcuRite NOW app, you are all set! If we can further assist, please reach out to our support team via live chat or email request.

Easy Setup and Good Weather Station

This is so easy to get setup once you have your post setup prior to setting it up. I already had my post setup up prior to setting up the sensor device. This weather station is the best weather station for the people that likes to know what the current conditions are at your home, business, ect.
