Prints well, but we still can't get it to connect wirelessly to our computers or phones. Tried many ways and exhausted the options to connect. We have to hard wire it.

Hi, Sharon.
I’m sorry you’ve encountered trouble with your printer. Your review is brief, but it’s easy to understand why slow printing, unexpected noise and operating-system compatibility issues would add up to a poor start to ownership. I want to help you resolve these problems, so I’ll suggest some resources aimed at making that happen.
First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; among its suggestions are instructions on updating firmware, which can help improve print speed and other performance. Find that guide here: - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2817150-2408088-16
Next, you might gain useful information from a guide on our support site to printer compatibility with Mac OS. It covers several software and support options for printing with Mac OS on HP devices. Find that guide here: - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2635044-2489772-16
If any problem persists – and for input on what might be causing the noise you hear – I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
The print quality and speed are what we needed. We love how economical the bottles of ink are...so much cheaper for the quantity than the cartridges. Just like past HP printers we've had (6 so far), it goes offline at the most inopportune time. "All-in-One" printers are not all the same. Make sure that you verify that it has everything you need...including fax ability...if that is what you were expecting to have. Nothing with the review but wish I had purchased one with the automatic document feeder...pretty obvious this one does not but the "All-in-One" threw me off. Again, the print quality and speed are great.
I have been working on trying to get the printer to link to my laptop and my Android Smartphone. What a pain! We have followed all the directions, looked on the HP website and nothing has helped. Not very happy right now!
Out of the box, this printer took me about 20 minutes to set up and get running. I bought it to replace another HP printer/scanner we had for years. I purchased the Smart Tank 6001 when I noticed it had a self healing wifi connection. Our old printer, from day one, had issues working on wifi after it had been on for a long period of time. You had to turn it on and off and fight with it for a while before it would start working again. So far, since we turned this printer on a few weeks ago, it has had no connectivity issues. Along with the eco-tank for ink savings, I am very happy with the purchase.
