This is a 5-star multi-function printer, a very nice bit of kit, and will certainly save on ink costs (though the saving takes time). It's a pricey buy, but worth it for me. Ensure that you don't need the multi-page document feeder to read 2-sided sheets; it can only read 1-sided. I followed the online instructions (as recommended on the front page of the setup leaflet) and I was glad that I did, rather than rely on the leaflet alone. The online instructions are excellent, and necessarily so - it's NOT a trivially simple procedure. I liked having no cables except the power cable, with the wireless connection quickly and simply established. Pay attention to the link on HP's online sale page, which directs you how to get the extended 3-year warranty ... I found that the ONLY workable way to get that warranty after purchase was to go back to that original page and click on that link. The discovery cost me several frustrating hours!
Bought this because my trusty old HP printer developed a known fault of not printing Cyan and it was impossible to find the solution on HP's website. Super happy that the ink is expected to last such a long time. Love everything about it except two niggles.
1) Its just as noisy as the last one when it starts to print - sets my two dogs off in a frenzy of barking and attacking the paper as it comes out - I was hoping a newer printer would be quieter. 2) My old printer had a separate feeder for photo paper whereas this one only has a single feeder - really irritating to have to empty the feeder and change the paper size guides just to print a phot and then change them back again afterwards.
Got this as a replacement for my trusty Kodak Verite 55 only because you can't easily or affordably buy inks. The HP Ink Tank seems a great buy. Easy to order and set up was very easy. Early days but print results look brilliant.
I've had the printer about two weeks now and it's great. The tanks are easy to see and it's very simple to set up. No more waiting for cartridges to run out and only having an approximate idea of how long they have left.
You asked me so I'll tell you... - drops offline all the time and is almost impossible to get back on line. My old printer was more useful - and that one didn't work at all but I knew that and didn't waste hours trying to get it to work...
