DO NOT BUY EPSON ET-2988

This is THE WORST PIECE OF CRAP I have ever used. Just purchased after HP broke my officejet 8030 printer via malware. I *detest* having to choose my media type (document or photo) to limit my printing abilities. I should be able to simply print an 8-1/2 by 11 document, and not have it override my choice because it thinks it’s “helping” me by resetting to photo size.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fine when it works

I print a lot, I use this printer for work. It's fine WHEN it works. I have gotten phantom "paper jam" errors that has had to be fixed multiple times and I've only owned this for a couple months. I end up not being able to print for a day or 2 while the issue gets fixed. For me, I need reliability and I don't think this product offers that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the second refurbished printer we purchased from Epson. The last Eco Tank printer lasted 4 years and we only had to get a new printer because the printer's ink pad was full. This ET-2988 looks new with just one small mark on the front. Easy to set-up and load the ink. I like being able to see the ink levels at the front of the printer since the last Eco Tank printer we had the tanks were on the side. Nice 2-sided feature printing feature, too. Print quality looks good on documents and photos.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this ET-2988 less month ago and tried every connection setting and restarted router several times still no wifi connection tried entering manual still nothing and wfi is picking up lot printers except 2988 this worst printer,

I received the ET-2980 yesterday. The installation instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. The printer connected to my desktop easily and I was able to print successfully. I was looking at a recipe this morning and decided to try printing from my Samsung phone. Success! All went very well and I'm very pleased with it so far. Also, I like that it automatically opens the drawer when I start printing and that I can select the button to close it when I'm not printing. I had an HP 6001 printer before that kept getting disconnected from my computer and was very frustrated with it for quite a while now. This is my first Epson and I'm hoping it was a good choice!

Impractical basics

Makes quality prints, but designers went to sleep … making it so the users need a magnifying glass and a flashlight just to read the control panel or find the button for printing. Seems fundamental to printer design.
