For a person that has never had a glass top cooktop, so far so good. I replaced a coiled cooktop as we were unable to get replacement elements. It has definitely been an adjustment. My only complaint is that I really wish the light at the knob to tell me it’s on was brighter, it’s faint but would be visible if I were to cook in the dark! We all know this would not be safe. But yet a bright RED LIGHT illuminates from the knob when I turn the knob to off???? I get that this tells me even tho I’ve turned the knob to off that the space will be too hot to touch until the space is cooled. So Why not just make use of the red light from start to finish and ditch the ever so faint white light???? Please ask me to review this again in 6 months or more as I’ve really can’t give an honest review on anything else just yet. My only other concern in the future would be the durability of the glass top, will it break?, will it scratch, will it still look nice 6 or more months from now??? Time will tell. In answering to next question hard to recommend to a friend until I’ve had more use but so far I would thus the reason I answered yes.
Super happy we went with the 36" cooktop. The xtra burner is convenient to have, and, I didn't even realize when we bought but it is a dual burner. The back Left burner heats very quickly which is great for bringing water to a boil quickly. So to sum it up, it works great and also looks great.
