Heavy and bulky bag

I bought the matching medium check-in luggage as a companion to the carry-on and it turned out to be extremely heavy. Turns out it's one of the heaviest bags in its category. Additionally, it's slightly wider than typical 26 inch bags, which made it feel bulky and difficult to handle even empty. I hope that Tumi will innovate and find a way to reduce the weight of the empty bag. That being said, it looks and feels premium and chic in person. Sadly, I returned both poeces and will be paying attention to the weight in the future!

Love this bag (but buy it if you're looking for a big medium)

I love this bag. It's sturdy, resilient, and flexible. The dual opening is the "killer app" feature as bags with this footprint take a lot of space when butterflied.
I do agree with those that have said that the bag is just bit too big for a medium and it does affect the handling of the bag.
If I could recreate it to compensate, I'd make it one inch narrower and one inch less deep at the starting position. (it could still have 2 expandable inches)
I would also give it more hard plastic reinforcement at the back for handling and on the edges and corners.
