Not how they used to make them

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I happen to have an Office Carry on from Tumi that has traveled around the world several times in the last 6 years and that one compared to this dual access carryon is day and night in terms of perceived quality: the zipper on the this new one seems flimsy and narrow, the inside material for the pockets and dividers is a lot lower quality that what I have in the Office carry on. Even the wheels on my office carry on seem wider and more robust. My wife has the Baseline carry on from Briggs & Riley and when I put the Dual Access next to it, you can see the cost cutting on the Tumi side clearly: my older Office Tumi carry on and the Briggs & Riley have wider zippers, the balistic nylon looks more substantial, the inside material looks more premium. This dual access seems built to a price and no longer to a standard. I ended up returning it to one of their retail stores. If you would not be familiar with the Tumi from 5-6 years ago, you would probably be satisfied but if you have an older balistic Tumi or a Baseline from Briggs & Riley, you may have a hard time justifying the cost beyond the bragging rights when you're rolling in in the airport - for me, I find that insufficient and need more substance. Hope Samsonite corporation fixes the quality issues at Tumi and also brings back the lifetime warranty - 5 years is not OK either. Briggs offers the best warranty in the business with no questions asked no matter what/when something happens to your luggage - this used to be Tumi but Samsonite clearly has cost cutting on its mind...

Great bag, but shows dirt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a few Tumi pieces over the years, and this one is just as nice as the others. Durable and stylish, tons of packing room, good zippers, this bag has it all. It's been through at least 20 flights, and it's still in great shape.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I fell in love with the looks of the bag but when I received it, I realized how heavy it was. I bought the matching medium check-in luggage as well, and it turned out to be very heavy too. I understand that the materials used here make it heavy but I hope that Tumi will innovate and find a way to reduce the weight of the empty bag. That being said, it looks and feels premium and chic in person. Sadly, I returned both and will be paying attention to the declared weight in the future!
