I didn't know it required 2.4 WiFi. I have 5g home internet. So it doesn't work.☹️
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Camera itself works well and is satisfactory in all aspects but one: you have to buy a subscription to see the video captured by the camera’s motion sensor function. You can see the snapshot single images, but videos (which I assume are people coming to the door - the snapshots are mostly cars driving by) pop up ads for the subscription service when you try to view them. It looks like you can record video manually, but you have to pay if you want to use it for security with the motion sensor function.
Was particularly impressed by the night vision. Really works well. Easy to install and setup.

Why would yould send me cameras without updating the firmware.
Tried numerous times to update and get update fail message.

As a first step, please make sure that your Wyze app is fully up to date.
Next, please check your camera’s connection strength: 1. Open the Wyze app 2. Go to your camera’s settings 3. Select Device Info 4. Check Signal Strength
If the signal strength shows less than 2 bars, we recommend moving your router closer to the camera or repositioning the camera to improve connectivity.

Our products come with a 1-year manufacturer warranty, so if the device is determined to be defective we will be happy to exchange it for you.
