Didn’t know a subscription is now pretty much required. I have several cameras, with one on a subscription (front door). Other cameras do motion detection and send 12 (14?) second videos and seem to do pretty well not sending false positives. Apparently Wise no longer supports this mode for new cameras, and it only sends snapshots for motion detection and does no images detection (so I get a lot of pictures of things like leaves, or dryer steam, or whatever). You can add an SD card to capture ALL video (continuous), which is ok…but really a step down from before.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Wyze Window Cam. We understand how changes to event capture and subscription options can be frustrating, especially if you’ve been using Wyze cameras for a long time.
To clarify how things currently work:
No subscription is required for basic use. Wyze Window Cam still provides free event detection with a still-image cloud thumbnail, and you can use a microSD card for 24/7 local recording.
Subscriptions are required for cloud video clips and AI detection. For newer cameras, features like cloud-based event video clips and advanced detection (such as person or package detection) now require a Cam Plus or Cam Unlimited subscription. Without a subscription, events will generate snapshots rather than video clips.
Local recording remains an option. Adding a microSD card allows for continuous or event-based local recording so you can review all footage directly from the card.

It’s great at night it lights up like daytime however it still has a glare sometimes and it does not show the movement long enough in the replay.. setting up motion area only is not easy

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Wyze Window Cam! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the night vision performance.
We appreciate your feedback regarding glare, motion replay length, and the motion detection area setup. To help reduce glare, make sure the mounting sticker is placed horizontally and not trimmed, clean both the window and camera lens, and avoid nearby light sources or window screens. For longer replay coverage, using a microSD card for 24/7 local recording can allow you to review more footage beyond motion clips. Keeping the Wyze app updated can also help improve the motion detection setup experience.

I couldn’t be happier with my Wyze Window Cameras. They have been incredibly reliable from day one, with a clear, sharp picture both during the day and at night. The video quality is impressive for the price, making it easy to see exactly what’s happening outside my windows. Installation was quick and straightforward—I had them up and running in minutes with no hassle. The app is easy to use, and notifications are timely and accurate, which really adds to the peace of mind. Honestly, I liked them so much that I went back and bought extra cameras to cover more areas. It’s hard to beat the combination of reliability, great image quality, and ease of use at this price point. I highly recommend Wyze Window Cameras to anyone looking for a simple, effective home security solution.
I wanted a camera to view in front of my house and driveway. I like the nighttime view in color. It's view is sharp and clear. I will be getting another for my backyard at some point although my neighbor's backyard camera angle also sees my yard as well. The technology has improved very much since he installed his. This is seen in the clarity of this new camera I just installed.
