I love the whole idea of this camera! The actual Photos are great and super nostalgic! There are 2 cons that are a bummer. 1) the sound that was installed to give the effect of a camera snapping a photo is super cheesy and a little weird when you’re around other people. 2) there’s no way to protect the lens. I can’t just toss it in my purse and go. For the price, it should have some way to cover the lens when not in use. I just wonder how long it will be able to take decent pictures because of that. I do have the super 8 camera as well and love it, especially since they created a cover for that lens!
Happy with the photos but the camera has some quicks. With a lens hood I got vignetting on the left corners only, so the sensor isn't centred on the lens. On landscape photos I'm often (80% ish) getting photos with the horizon down on the left side, so I think the sensor is also slightly rotated (not level). The camera specs say 22.5mm focal length (35mm equiv) - but the viewfinder is suitable for a 40mm-ish lens. You get way way more in the photos than what you see in the viewfinder. If you're someone who likes to compose photos carefully, expect to do a lot of cropping. I do like the photo mode dial. That alone is easily worth the upgrade from the OG Camp Snap
Cons: -cheap, plasticky construction - the power-on and “shutter” noises are horrendous.
This is the perfect vacation camera. It fits in the pocket or sling bag, great photos out of camera, and the whole concept of allowing you to leave your phone behind and just be present is phenomenal.
The biggest drawbacks are in its construction. The CS-Pro looks great from afar, but it’s a little too plasticky and cheap up close. Also the power on and fake shutter noises made me embarrassed to use it in public. I got over that, but silent would have been a much better option
Easy to use and decent quality pictures. Super easy to upload to your phone - I like that part a lot. Still need to work out some kinks with it but good overall. Will be taking it on a two week road trip so will definitely put it to the test then.
I bought this camera specifically to take with me to the Masters practice round, as they do not allow phones on the course but cameras are allowed during practice rounds. It exceeded my expectations by a mile! So easy and simple to use. The pictures turned out amazing! Would recommend to anyone.
