The only thing I wish was different is the lack of pedal resistance on the clutch and throttle. There is no real sense of input unless you dont wear shoes or wear actual racing shoes.
For this price point I don't think anything else comes remotely close to the quality and rigidity these pedals offer. Coming from daily usage of Logitech pedals as well as experiencing other brands pedals I found the CSL Elite V2's have helped me to vastly improve my consistency in proper sim titles. However I found the pedals themselves lack adjustability and are on occasion difficult to bolt to a rig. Don't regret my purchase at all though!
I upgraded my pedals from the Gran Turismo DD kit to the CSL Elite kit. At first I found the CSL Elites to be too stiff and required too much leg force to brake accurately for any given corner. Then I realized that I could adjust the brake force from the steering wheel. That changed everything! Now I can load the front of the car smoothly and trail brake like I do in real life. I used the settings in ACC and GT7 to see how far I wanted my max brake pressure to be at. Then found a good number for the brake force to be set to on the steering wheel.
After years of sim racing and experience with different pedal sets, I can confidently say the CSL Elite Pedals V2 exceeded my expectations in one very specific area that matters the most: “braking performance”!
The brake pedal is simply outstanding!
It delivers a level of consistency, control and confidence that I honestly did not expect at this price point. The Load Cell implementation feels incredibly natural, allowing precise modulation under heavy braking while still giving clear and repeatable feedback lap after lap. Compared to much more expensive pedal sets I have tried, the braking performance of the CSL Elite V2 easily holds its ground and in some cases feels even more intuitive.
What impressed me the most is how predictable the braking becomes once you adapt to it. Threshold braking, trail braking and ABS control in ACC feel extremely consistent, which directly improves confidence and race pace over longer stints.
The throttle and clutch pedals are more simple in comparison. They are not trying to be overly complex or overly detailed, and in practice they feel perfectly adequate. Smooth, linear and easy to control, exactly what you need from them without unnecessary complexity.
However, the real highlight here is clearly the brake pedal. It transforms the entire set into something far more capable than its category suggests.
If your focus is GT racing, endurance racing or competitive sim racing in general, the CSL Elite Pedals V2 are an outstanding choice. They deliver high-end braking performance without the high-end price tag.
I am new to sim racing. But order these pedals very soon after I bought the GT DD pro bundle. And I love them. Only thing I can say I miss is a harder throttle. But that can I fix. These pedals are 100% worth it. So good.
