Expensive but good

I heard lots about this vacuum and I've had lots of Dysons' in the past. What sold me was the submarine head that allows you to mop a floor without any harsh chemicals. This is an expensive machine and not everyone can afford something like this, but having little kids and several pets, I can honestly say this is a great machine. Suction and cleaning is definitely better than the V11 absolute that it replaced. The battery run time is far superior and there's a number of small improvements that just make this better and more convenient overall, such as the compactor dust bin, the contactless latch to release the dirt, the buttons to release accessories (FYI, no longer compatible with previous generation, at least V11) and the green laser that helps you tell if there's any dust (love this feature as it gives me satisfaction). The submarine function is not better or worse than I expected. It cleans decently well once you get the hang of it, though it'll never replace a full mop for a big job, but I have to say there's something relaxing about moping with the Dyson. If your floors haven't been washed in a while it'll have trouble keeping up, but if you mop regularly, this does the trick nicely.

V16s Piston Animal Absolute

Although this is the latest model but without the Fluffy Optic head Cleaner, it doesn't work well with hard floors. I used to have the GEN5 Outsize and I feel the power is the same (although V16 claimed to have the highest suction power), and for floor cleaning, the Fluffy Optic head works 3-4 times better than this new V16 Piston Animal Absolute. I have to go through 3-4 times over the same spot to get the dirt clean on hard floors. Similar to carpets, the GEN5 or the V15 works the same. This model also does not come with extra battery and an extension docking station either with Best Buy or even with Dyson Canada. Other models will have them. The submarine is not really fantastic. The SHARK or BISSELL mop works even better....or just a simple conventional mop will do. I'm thinking of returning it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing

Very disappointed especially considering the cost. It isn’t picking up from hard floor without going over it multiple times. It often pushes particles around instead of sucking it up. It doesn’t seem to have any suction on the from or sides so doesn’t pick up in corners. Battery dies before we are done vacuuming the house; based on square footage it should be fine but because we are needing to continuously go over spaces to clean, the battery dies before we are done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This vacuum works great! It has been an amazing purchase, for my apartment it's more than enough to go through all the cleaning I need and the add on of the submarine makes it so easy to mop.
I would recommend this to a friend!
