So I had the original ohsnap with the adhesive and I loved them, and wished they had a stand. Ohsnap delivered. This is a good stand, not to floppy and it sits high enough. My one concern is that the magenets don't seem as strong as they did on the original oshanap design, especially when attaching to a magsafe charger. I get a better connection with the ring down, but that makes me worried about wearing out the hinge.
Would be a 5 star review, but it is very stiff to open. I usually have to remove it from the phone to swing it open. A great modification would be a small indent at the top of the ring opposite the hinge to get a bit of leverage.
Magnet strength is much worse than my previous oh snap grip

They either used weaker magnets OR didn’t use stronger magnets to compensate for the extra material used on this grip vs the older ones. (It’s almost twice as thick as my old one). Bottom line if you’re used to a grip that actually holds on to a car mount without falling off when you hit a bump, this isn’t it. It also doesn’t hold to my phone as well, I’ve had it fall off when I dropped my phone from pocket height, my old one you had to use something to pry it off the back of my phone. I love the stand part of it, just disappointed that it does everything my old one did so much worse. At least the wall mount was free, considering the adhesive failed and fell off my wall in less than a week.
I've been quite happy with every OhSnap Grip I've owned previously. And I was also happy with this one until I realized that it does not support wireless charging, so I'll be going back to my 4 Luxe version. Should've paid more attention to the product description, I suppose... :o(
I really wanted to love this, but two things are preventing that...1) Why does it need to be removed to charge your phone? Had the snap grip 4 prior and wireless charging worked like a charm. 2) I miss the adhesive! The Snap Grip 4 gave that extra security with just a little bit of adhesive. Now I am afraid any sudden movement, the grip will be in my hand or attached to something and the phone will hit the ground, especially if I hit a pothole while driving.
Nice idea but the magnets are too weak to hold my phone to gym equipment. I had such high expectations. Oh well, it'll end up in my closet and I'll go back to my chubbycable stand...
