If there is anything iffy in this device, it feel the disk that pops out to slide your fingers behind feels a little tighter than I'd prefer and I wonder about the long term with those thin hinges underneath. We'll see. But I"m very happy with the initial function and quality. Keep improving, (there must be something :-)
I love that the stand is magnetic and can be attached to any magnetic surface. I also like the range of colors that are offered for this stand. However, while the finger grip is comfortable it almost feels a bit flimsy and you can’t rotate the stand to adjust your phone’s angle when you want to lay it horizontally. The MagSafe compatibility doesn’t work unless you attach the stand directly to your phone (you can’t attach the stand to a case and expect the MagSafe to work). 3.5/5 stars
I love the idea of the snap grip with a stand which is why I paid the money for it but a few things that could be improved upon-1. The magnet does not stick well to the phone if you have a phone case on. Only way to get it to stick with a case on is to put the metal adapter that it comes with for android phones. I have an iPhone with MagSafe and a thin case and it still doesn’t work well which negates the functionality of the grip if your phone falls off at the slightest bump. The adhesive that they used to use was good but didn’t work well with the more textured grip phone cases they make nowadays.2. The stand is really hard to pull out. There is no tab or indent to easily pull the stand out which is kind of annoying.3. The stand rotation from vertical to horizontal is not as seamless as advertised. If you use the metal android adapter to get the stand to stick securely to the phone, then rotating the stand horizontally is almost impossible. But if you don’t use the adapter then you can rotate the stand but it comes off the phone so easily.
Not very strong magnet for wireless charging. My previous one without the kickstand stuck much better to my charging pucks. Also hard to get the kickstand open with short fingernails.
i really wish they put a notch or something into the stand piece. I don't have nails so it's very difficult to open up the stand portion. You need to get just the right grip on the outside to open it op. other than that, it's awesome! I've been with oh snap since kick starter and very happy w this version!! I also do kind of wish the kick stand rotated so i can have it on a vlat surface in landscape mode but it;s still great sideways.
I loved the first snap grip and when I saw this kickstand version, I purchased it immediately. The new design and construction are major improvements. I love the stand addition and i don't need to carry my Peak Design mobile tripod anymore. The only flaw I found was the strength of the magnet. I use mag-safe chargers in my car, desk and nightstand and I found that the hold of this new version is not as strong as the gen-1 grip. Upside: It's much easier to remove from my chargers.
This is hands-down the best grip I've used. It is incredibly thin, the magnet is strong, and the kickstand is perfectly functional without adding any bulk to my phone. It makes handling a large screen effortless.
