I was expecting a solid, sturdy product but it seems very flimsy and the paint chips off so easily. The concept is nice, but the quality can be improved more especially since it’s quite pricey.
I upgraded from the sticker back version which was a great stand! Lightweight, slim, fun to mess with (and probably annoy people) popping it out and back. Having the horizontal stand was great, but some videos and things are just vertically aligned on your phone. No way around it. This version has all the traits of the sticker version, plus the kickstand for standing your phone vertically. I use the new kickstand probably every day - a worthy upgrade. This is my third Ohsnap and they keep making them more and more useful every revision.
My daughter bought the original for me during Christmas 2025. In June 2026, the coating started peeling off. I was going to upgrade to the new oh snap but I’m not sure if this will happen again, so I’m not buying the new one. Other than that, it’s a pretty cool device.
Not gonna lie, I like holding my phone using this Snap Grip Stand even more than its ohsnap center. Had I not upgraded to the Snap Grip Stand, I would never know what I was missing! My phone now has two gadget options built-into-one, and I use/fidget with each of them: 1.The ohsnap!, which is like a "pop socket" but more advanced, magnetic, and sturdier. 2.The stand part, which folds out, spins, and has at least 3 different functions. Although my hands are petite, holding my iPhone 17 using the stand is still easier than futzing with the "ohsnap" part, which requires slightly more coordination to open. If you have a phone case that has raised bumpers surrounding your camera lenses, there's a chance that you may need to trim a little of that off with a razor blade so that your Snap Grip Stand can sit flush on the magnet. I haven't done that yet and my stand only closes like 95% because of it. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and can highly recommend not just the Snap Grip Stand, but also the Car Mount, which works with it.
