Eh, figured it would be better than the sb go. Not very impressed for the price… maybe two would be better for for 800 I don’t think ill be doing that I’ve owned Sbgo’s, sb3’s. Had high hopes.
The SOUNDBOKS mix is an absolute powerhouse and is very loud with the perfect amount of lows to fill an entire room and battery to last all day! Love it!
I've been listening to my SB Mix across many settings for a week. It reaches only about half of the SB 4. 0. This makes sense with the number of speakers in the Mix, but the product description noted that it was nearly the same loudness and performance as SB 4. 0. At first I was disappointed as it was simply not very loud out of the box. I was worried it would reach nowhere near the performance I was expecting. The default setting seems to be half of what I expected. When turning the volume up it was relatively quiet until I reached notch 5 (of 11). This is nearly half of the full volume and it was still quiet. For example, my 3D printer was louder drowning out the sound of the Mix. After raising the Mix to +5 dB to +10 dB of volume from within custom settings. only then did it get louder. That is the higher sound that I expected from a Soundboks.
First and foremost, WOW! I have been a Soundboks fan since ordering my first one over 10 years ago. I have bought and road tested every version and the MIX is a perfect balance of size, power, and performance.
My latest SB before the MIX was the GO which certainly filled the need for something with a similar impact as the original but in a more portable size. It served me well on many outings, however lacked the road case styling and deeper base of the full size.
The MIX is only slightly bigger than the GO but reclaims the style of the original. The woofer is the same size as the GO but somehow produces a deeper, cleaner, and louder low end with less distortion when pushed, which is helped by the larger port, while the larger tweeter produces wider range and clarity than the GO.
The MIX performs more like the original, feels more rugged, and is simply BADASS!
Side note, my original GEN 1 has been kicked around the most extreme conditions for 10 years and still blows people's minds!
